I am in need of guys and girls....I have done the Saturn alternator swap. But, at this time, I not getting any charge to the battery...I have followed every post on how to get this swap done right, with no results...The red wire on the mitsu side of the harness, is always seeing whatever the battery voltage is seeing...but the black and yellow is not seeing anything...

Does anyone have any idea of what the problem could be? And is the black and yellow wire suppose to be seeing voltage?

Make sure your fusible link is high enough to handle the higher amperage. It might be too low and it'll block the charge without blowing.

I dont understand what you mean... are you saying that i need to change the fuse? i am using the stock fuse that is in the fuse box under the hood...

The stock fuse is rated at 70amp (I think). The saturn alternator is 120amp output. The vr4 alternator is 90 amp and I'm using a 100amp fuse. You want the fuse to be generally 10% higher than the max load of the circuit. So you'd want a 132amp fuse. They don't make these so, your best bet is 130 or 135amp.

Do us all a favor and test your fuse to see if it's even bad in the first place.
We know what and where it is, but we need more information, like doing tests such as continuity and voltage drop tests. If you can't do this, this will be very hard for US to diagnose your car without physically being there.

Is the alternator well grounded to the block?

I have several grounds. I have one going directly to the alternator.

I did another test on a stock 2g. The black and yellow wire is getting the same voltage the battery sees. On the swap, I tested the wire coming from the saturn alternator that goes to the black and yellow wire that goes to the mitsu harness. This wire doesn't see any voltage. I think this is the problem.

I will do some more test and I will get a higher amperage fuse.

Do I need a 35 ohm resistor on the black and yellow wire?
