running issue

Hey all I was curious as to your thoughts on whats wrong it's not my car. There is a 89 dodge colt 1.5l auto that was running fine for ever (no recent issues) and just quit on the interstate. Got it to the house and it set for a couple days then was started and it ran for about 5 minutes and then quit again. Any ideas? The guy checked the timing belt and it was there -.- I know . i would start with the basics check battery, clean teminal, check for fuel and fuel pump to be working then check compression. im sure you know all u need for a car to run is power fuel and spark and compression. hope this helps some

Yeah I knew that and will check all that once I make it over there but for some reason he thinks its the ecu. Says its been on its 4th ecu since he's owned it that it keeps getting wet from the ac sweat? idk that is why I'm asking you guys. Thanks alot for the response.

ya its possible thats the problem also they do not like geting wet so he should probally fix that t water issue try to move the ecu somewhere other then where its gona get ruined sounds like your on the right track and should be able to figure it out. thanks for the info

I plan on doing a compression test once I get a to it but was just wondering if there are any ecu nuts that maybe can tell me info on it. Idk if they have a cap problem or its just the turbo ones. Thanks again.
