rpm based oil leak

just like the title says. when its idleing in the driveway or cruising at low rpms i don't have any leak.
If i do a hard pull when i come to a stop i get smoke from oil dripping on my exhaust.

its not leaking from the turbo, i dont believe its coming from the VC gasket.

so i am probably looking at the oil pump and the oil pan. I believe their is no pressure in the pan so it should be the oil pump. Is this correct?

have you checked you pcv... do you have an oil caught can?
i just have a breather filter right now waiting on my caught can to arrive, and under boost its spits oil out pretty good.. it will fall on your tranny and poodle up and over time might spill off on your cv shart and then fly everywhere, and get all over the down pipe!

Just let you know a possible issue, cause this happen to me!!

As with any oil leak the best thing to do first is completely clean the motor. Degrease it and wash it all off. Then do a couple quick pulls and immediately check for leaks even before it starts to smoke. Places to check would be valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, timing cover area.

I am running two 'catch' cans, one between the PCV and one bettween the intake and the valve cover. both recover some oil.

I am certain that is not the cause in this case. i get about a tea spoon of oil out of them about every 3 oil changes. i would estimate they remove about 90 percent of the oil in the air. that given by my judging the inside of the vacuum hoses that lead to and from them.


In my opinion if you car is spitting out enough oil from the valve cover to be considered a leak you have a further problem.

with the years of grime in my engine bay i will need to find a small pressure washer... Ill come up with somthing.
