Ok..this is my 90 talon tsi awd that I just purchased..When I bought the car, I was aware that it was having some little problems starting and that there was a small oil leak...Well, I have had it for about 3 days, and so far it never starts and it is completely out of oil b/c it leaked it all out...

The car has no T-belt cover so the spark plug wires got stripped a little bit by the timing belt...

Is there any chance in the world that the horrible idle is coming from the stripped Spark plug wires??..I am putting in new one's soon...

I gave her a quart of oil today and from a roll back, it will start up, but idle at 2000 RPM, that is only if you hold it at it...If you release the pedal, the car's RPM drop and it dies...Oil PRessure gauge shows like 50-90psi I think at idle if it's possible

Any ideas??? Supposedly a new starter, but still needs new spark plug wires among other things..What else could the idle problem be??? Oil seems to be leaking from around the oi pan area but trust me, it comes down in drips but won't stop till the engine loses all of the oil...I need help fast!! thanks

Im not sure how in the world your spark plug wires would get stripped by the timing belt??? but i know alot of people who dont run timing belt covers and they dont have problems like that. Not even sure how ## wires got striped but that would cause an idling problem. however it would only be while idling you would misfire while accelerating too. No matter what change those wires and go from there. Also check your TPS maybe those wires are stripped or freyed. If there no visible problem wiggle the sensor gently and see if your idle changes. In the future zip tie your plug wires together or get a plug well cover so those things arent flapping all over the place

Well I am sure that the timing belt has stripped the wires, I can see the yellow residue from the accel wires plus one of the wires has a whole chunk of it missing...It will start, but just not well and I do not want to leave it in this condition...any opinions?

Why do you guys say that, the last wire on the end just barely hugs the corner where there is a space in between where the spark plug cover and timing belt cover would be...Since I have neither covers, one of the wires got a little chunk of it stripped out from hitting the running t-belt at one time or another...could this idle problem be the BISS or ISC??
