So I did a compression test just now. Engine was hot enough to where the spark plugs were to hot to hold. Didnt do WOT though but that wouldnt give me such stupid low numbers as..?

1: 56
2: 62
3: 53
4: 70

Engine is a Stage 1 short block from SIM racing with 800 miles.. ummm help :'(

I mean before you just took the head off again. The first time did you have the head checked before you put it on?

What brand compression test did you use? Junk compression testers will read off and make you think your engine messed up. Make sure there is no leak in the compression tester.

Not sure what brand the compressor test was. It was a loaner from O'Reilly.

i wouldnt trust that being a loaner tool, everybody and their brother probably used it and it could be worn out/no good

Not saying the HG was not blown, but chances are that the high pressure oil making it in the low pressure coolant, with the HG being the issue, chances are slim to none.

Since you installed a new shortblock 800 miles ago, I would bet you over torqued the the oil cooler sandwich plate and cracked the internal coolant passages.

Post up some pics of the head once you get it back from the shop.

Hope you asked how they surface a head.
