Okay, So I did my boost leak test saturday. Hooked it all up...I put it in the turbo inlet...

Sucky thing is, We only had enough airpressure in the tank that we thought we had enough. To fill it up 1 time...

We let it rise...

It started falling but there was no air sounds or signs of leak

my question is

If you pump in 15 psi, And it decreses down to 0 in like 30 or more seconds, Is it good? Or Is it suppost to hold 15 psi, and not decrese

The One sound I heard was, a Gargaling sound comming from my engine like oil bubbaling

What does that mean, Is that a leak? Please help me Oldman

It should hold that pressure for...

Oh sorry you were looking for Oldman. Maybe you should try a PM. :toobad:

well damn, I wonder what was leaking...
squirt the engine bay with soapy water. you'll notice all boost leaks (while pressurized) because the water will be really bubbly

The gurgling sound you hear is air getting past the turbo seal => oil return => oil pan, this is normal during a static pressure test as long as it's not leaking oil during operation. Move the tester to the licp right after the turbo and see if you're able to pressurize up to 20psi. Make sure you pray soapy water on every coupling, gasket, TB area and the injector seals/insulator as well as opening the oil cap and listen for leaks.

BTW I don't read every thread so pm me next time with the link if you want my help, this way you don't offend anyone. :)

I guess Ill try it again...

Does venting. Make your PSI go down? or will it still hold Pressure...Damn, I wish I could have tested it more.

no the pressure will hold, it'll just make you run really rich if your not venting properly. other than that it'll just be real fu*king loud (hence RFL)

I was expecting some loud hissing or whatever. its weird It went down. But I heard nothing. Damn it, I want to find this leak.

Loud hissing is mainly for people who can't even pressurize up to 5 psi. The fact that you're able to pressurize up to 15psi (not a bad place to start) indicates that you're dealing with small leaks and it's time to whip out the soapy water.

oldman, Can I pay for a round trip ticket for you to fly here and you come for a vacation. And help me fix up my talon

LOL I would but there is nothing in North Carolina except for cheap cigarettes, don't think I can convince my girlfriend to vacation there. :p

When i do my boost leaks test it doesn't go to 0 for about 2 minutes. Does that mean I'm leaking?

No your fine, if you got it up there in the numbers. Mine held 25 psi on my 1g for about 30 seconds then started falling off. Was leaking back out of the tester :)

i filled mine up, after it was down, it just sat there for a second, then started slowly leaking out. Back down to 0.
