So I was finding that my car would kinda fall on its face at around 2500-3000 rpms, and then at around 3000 it would start to pull ok. I could really hear my turbo spooling hard compared to the acceleration that I was feeling, so I figured that I had a boost leak.
Bought that kit, hooked it up and I could only get about 7-8 psi max out of it and the hissing noise of leaking air I was hearing was coming from around the head, and found that pressure was being lost into the head. When I would unscrew the oil cap or pull the dipstick out pretty much all the airpressure would be released.
Curious what would be the main cause of a loss this way? Head gasket, valve seals? I replaced the pcv valve but that didn't seem to change anything. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Ken.
