Alright well i just did an oil change on my car, and a few days later I noticed this weird high pitched noise. I don't know if they are related, but all I know is i am trying to get rid of my car, and with this noise it's nearly impossible. Please let me know if anyone knows what it is. I have a clip on youtube for you to watch.

sounds like the timing belt side of the motor, i wouldn't run it until you figure out what it is, If its a bearing on one of the tensionor pulleys, and that pulley goes out you could jump timing and trash your head and maybe your pistons. It's hard to tell but i would take the timing belt inspection cover off and look for wear on the belt, as it may be rubbing the plastic timing belt cover.

I will definately check the belts, but are their any other suggestions?

I might want to mention, recently when I have been driving, it feels as though the engine misses every once in a while. Their will be a random small, but noticable, drop in RPM's.

Today I took of the belt cover and inspected the belt itself; it seemed to be in pretty good shape. Is there any further inspecting i can do, the sound is loudest in the back of the head, towards teh bottom of the belt cover.

Any other suggestions? Is it safe to drive? This is my Daily Driver so i need to get this figured out ASAP. Please get back to me with any info.

Alright so i looked at the belts a little more today, and it seems that the bottom belt pully(the furthest one down) is where the noise is coming from. Im not really familiar with what all the belt that one is, but I would really appreciate if someone could edit this image and list off the different kinds of pullys.

Thanks ahead of time

Alright i Edited it, Does the pic look correct?

The pulley with the blue center is the timing belt tensioner pulley. The one with the orange/red/brown center is the timing belt idler pulley. The one on the bottum right (small black one) is the oil pump pulley. The center one (bottum) is the crank pulley. I don't have MS Paint on this computer or I would have labeled your picture....

Alright well despite all of the posts i read about how not to drive it, I had to drive it down to get it fixed. Now i have found out the hard way, why not to drive my car with a bad pully. One of the pullies went and it is now stuck against the side of my block. Im almost positive it is the oil pump pully, but it might be the timing belt tensioner (Is this pully inside or outside the cover?). I drove it for about 1 minute after i heard it stop, so what could be the damage.

I am wondering if my engine is trashed? When i drove it for like that last minute, it drove fine, no noise AT ALL. Let me know what you guys can come up with.
