I'm completely new at this so I just need advice on how/where to learn about tuning/upgrading, and since i'm replacing my cylinder head I figured now is a good time to start before I start putting things back together. I just want to know what I can do without doing a turbo conversion to get an extra 50+ hp. I was thinking maybe some upgrades to the intake and exhaust maybe ignition components. Just some advice on where to start. Everything is stock btw. Thanks.

1g or 2g 6 bolt 7 bolt turbo ir NT

The heads are close to being the same

The main differances are 6 bolt head bolt holes are 13mm, 7 bolt heads are 12mm

1G heads have diffrent sized intake runners ( larger), 2G have the smaller intake runners

the therm hosing is diffrent between the 1g and 2g also

Also some 7bolt heads have a cam sensor on the front of the head behint the intake cam gear

IF you stay NT, and do not plan to go turbo, look for the Hauyndai 1.8l (4G63) clone head, it has smaller combustion chamber and will raise the CR of your engine and maybe get you another 10HP

I have understand this :
6 Bolt 12mm studs
7 Bolt 11mm studs
The 2G head has the best flow in the runners and best efficiency from the 1G head

For the 4G67 head (1.8L Sirius motor ) the combustion chamber volume is 43cc VS the 47cc from the 4G63 head.
Nice CR increase ...

(Sorry for my english)

Just for the record; that is, for those who may stumble upon this thread in the future -- the intake came on a 1g turbo head from a car with a manual transmission has a different profile (more aggressive/higher duration) than both the 1g non-turbo head (any transmission) and the 1g turbo head from a car with an automatic transmission. The only 1g heads that are essentially internally interchangeable are the 1g turbo head from a car with an automatic transmission and the 1g non-turbo head.

You do realize that the cam is able to be removed easily and isn't part of the head. The head casting, valves, springs, and retainers are the same. If you swap heads around than you can just swap the cams to what ever you want. Also a non turbo cam will work in a turbo engine and a turbo cam will work in a non turbo engine.
