Are you installing a regular head gasket or a MLS head gasket? Do you smoke a bit at idle? If so then valve stem seals should be replaced just for comfort.

First read up all you can on the order to do things.

Second parts list and things you need

1.) when was your timing belt and other belts replaced? If it wasnt very recent replace them all, or at least timing belt for sure.

2.) head needs to be decked. Take it to any machine shop they will deck it for you and if you can get it cleaned up and stuff.

3.) Clean the block very very very very well. Like mirror finish. Iv used schotch bright pads on mine, starting with ruffest and moving to the smothest, just have to be careful not to scratch the block up and not to get anything in the water and oil passages.

4.) Copper gastket stealer

5.) ARP head studs

6.) A head gasket, i would go with either the mistu metal one or a cometic. But if you are fairly new to tuning, just not that experianced get a oem gasket. It will be much better with detination in case of mistakes. But the better choice would be a metal one just have to be more careful tuning, which is a good thing!

7.)Light of copper gasket sealer on HG, And do the proper things to seat the head down, and retorque. Better safe than sorry.

8.) You will probably need a new valve cover gasket as well.
