I was wondering if anyone has done this. I have the entire suspension off of the car, and am replacing bushings generally cleaning things up. I was wondering if anyone knew the part numbers of the ball joints to go in the upper and lower rear control arms. Mine look pretty bad and I figure it can't hurt to replace them.

And the answer is, (drum roll).......... The front ball joint is interchangeable with the rear lower ball joint! If the top rears are the same, (mine are long gone, replaced with heim joints) then you are all good.

yep, same part number as the front ball joints. you'll need a press or some kind of device to take off the old ones and press in the new ball joints.

You can rent the ball joint press at Autozone. I've put in a few with it, works fine.

i was told that you couldnt get ball joints for our cars, you had to buy the whole arm? and how would you go about changing those bushings, im going to do my rear suspension soon

Sweet! thanks for the legwork

By the way, I'll probably have a write up on the 1g rear suspension bushings pretty soon, including possibly some custom specs on some delrin/teflon rear subframe bushings. (axle support member. They don't really need to move)

You are welcome.

I too have my subframe out, I'm making flanged discs to weld on top and bottom of where the rubber bushings were, making it really solid. As you said, they don't really need to move.
