Just spend the extra on buying a true manifold for it. That acutuating flange wouldn't even work like a tue twin scroll anyway. At least half the time it's going to be running like a standard undivided manifold and the otherhalf will be half of the exhaust flow into the turbo.

That's all assuming that the butterfly valve opens and closes constantly.

In theory, this should spool faster than using a divided manifold since you're cutting the AR in half. But it seems most people overlook the real principle behind twin scroll setups. Everyone associates it with better spool, but IMO the real advantage is improving mid-top end efficiency by dividing the pulses.

Cool idea but for 500 bucks they can keep it. Id rather save the money and buy a true twin scroll manifold.

It does sound interesting, but that thing costs more than I paid for my HX40. A divided manifold setup isn't too far out of reach of that price.
Yea your right Jus

I wouldn't do something like that on my car, I agree it's a waste of money but if I had a supra and I cared about lag then yea it would definetly be an option for me.

That's some pretty good info there, thanks for posting.

if you think about it... what would be the advantages of using this on a divided manifold and TS turbine??? I was considering the idea of doing this except in a better design at my work and testing it on my car when it gets done someday...LOL

If you used this on a true twin scroll setup, where would the exhaust from the two closed off cylinders go? Engines do not run well when the exhaust is blocked off so it has to go back out the intake. :)
