I have a 1990 Mitsu Eclipse GS turbo and i had to get the motor rebuilt because i had very bad compression rings and some other things. well the rings let oil into the exhaust system. now i have a very slow car that is pushing no boost. there isnt even spool up. i was wondering if the oil in the exhaust just needs to be burned out before i get more power. i was also wondering if i have a bad wastegate and thats why im not pushing any boost let alone getting any spool up. please help me

1. create a mod list for the car even if it's stock.
There is a place for doing that.
2. oil in the exhaust is not going to burn off and give you power. You have something installed incorrectly but without more info you can't get help!
3. what was done in the rebuild? How much vacuum is there at idle? Rev freely in neutral? Do you have preload on the actuator arm, how much? Like 1/8" until it will slip onto the flapper arm? You may have the wastegate wide open. Fill out the section for modsd and offer more info. Mark

the car is bone stock

i just thought that maybe there was some oil build up in the cat and that was restricting air flow throught my exhaust

on the rebuild all the internals were replaced the including pistons/rings. valves and gaskets were replaced and the flywheel was machined along w/ some other things

i dont know how much vacuum is at idle but its idle is 2000 rpm. about the actuator arm i have no movement at all. not the arm or the flapper. do u think i have a bad actuator

help is appreciated :(

Idle is way too high, turn the BISS screw in and get it down that way for now. Remove the actuator arm from the wastegate flapper and see if the actuator arm requires anything to pull it to see if the diaphram is shot. How long have you had this car as it seems you have little knowledge about it, not trying to be rude, just difficult to help if you know little about it. mark

okay i turned the BISS screw it now idles at about 1200 rmp and it sounds a lot better
i took the actuator arm off and that rod doesnt move easily it takes a lot of force. i just got the car friday so i havent even had it for a week so im still tryin to look at all the nooks and crannies so if it seems like i dont know a lot its cuz i just got it so since that arm doesnt move does that mean the diaphram is shot

thank-you for your help
joe

Actuator arms are usually quite stiff. Have you pulled the intake pipe to check the condition of the turbo shaft? Turbo could be bad. Mark
PS: Boost pressure pushes the arm out away from the diaphram unit nto control boost. You can try wiring the flapper closed to see if you get boost but don't hold it at WOT for long, just enough to see if with the wastegate forced closed you get boost. Check the turbo for shaft play/damage first. mark
