I'm about to install the Dejon steet FMIC. Dave @ Dejon assured me that the IC would handle 18 PSI with the 50 trim turbo. I will look into alky injection if necessary to run 20-21 PSI. I paid less than $650., shipinh included, including all pipes powder coated to one of the half dozen colors available. I would have loved to have a huge FMIC but not at the expense of loosing my AC nor weaken my front bumper considerably. Mark

Don't you think the one from the other site is better though? Especially if gotten for under $400? Their core is 25" wide, 6" tall, and 2.8" thick. Says it should hold 700hp or 25psi of boost and will fill the entire front opening on a 97-99 bumper. The Dejon tool one you are showing me is only 15.5" wide, 7" tall, and 3" thick. Quite a bit smaller.

Well a tube and fin IC is 25% efficient. A bar and plate like Dejon and Spearco is 40% efficent. Dejon includes piping and my cost with shipping was $635. I am not in a position to say one is better than the other. The old saying you get whatyou pay for may come onto play here or the other could be a great buy and a fine performer.
Dejon states his big side mount will support 400 HP. I also do not want to cut my front bumper at this time. Dejon said my 50 trim could run 18 PSI and the street IC would handle it. I'n just adding what I have done to this post. I hope you can make a decision without hesitation and wish you the best. mark

I checked out the extreme site and the IC you mention is about 23% more total volume than the Dejon I got. I did not see the price you mention. The price I saw was $698. for that size. Is it on sale? Where did the under $400. come from? The only thing I did not like was the pic into one of the inlet tubes with the cooling plates and fins right there! The Dejon has open tanks that will allow the air to freely flow into the IC and then pass through the cooling bar & plate. I would need more time to research the extreme IC's before a purchase. I am comfortable with dejon so that is the way I went. When looking at the HP these intercoolers are said to support and figures of 400 Hp are given I need not worry as I doubt I will make 400 HP, at least not at the wheels. If you go with the Extreme let us know how well it works and I will post my results with the Dejon so some of the unknowns are made clear to other club members. Mark
PS: The Dejon will fit without loosing the AC or cutting the bumper. Who knows I may do to a big IC some day but if the street model gets my 50 trim to put out 18 PSI with knock and still have god timing I should be happy. Stay tuned! Mark

Yes, Please let us know. I guess dejon changed that intercooler from the two stock sidemounts put together to a totally different core? I would be interested to see how it does. The only thing I didn't like about it is the fact it won't come even close to filling the front bumper. But, that's just a cosmetic thing.

I've used the GReddy Big FMIC and that is now only $850 shipped from SlowBoy. Recently I sold my GReddy and bout the SlowBoy FMIC and they matched the GReddy price of $850 shipped. I just got it installed on Saturday. $850 shipped for qulaity like theirs is reasonable to be.

The first pic is my greddy and the other two are my SBR......

I am slowly working to instal the dejon street FMIC. I also wanted a reasonable FMIC. Would love to have one that fit the entire bumper opening. Some of the larger FMIC's are tall enough that they are not exposed to the air passing through the bumper. I hope to have the Dejon set to have the etire 7" height exposed to oncoming air. Reasonable with cost and just as important the installation itself. My AC works and I wanted to keep that. There are 2 hard lines for the AC, one going into the evaporator and one out. I was told by one member he cracked one of his trying to bend it a bit to fit a Buschur FMIC. So keeping the AC was one of my considerations, a must actually. I have the Dejon upper IC pipe now, the one that accepts the GM MAF for the Translator. That cost me $200. The street FMIC is designed to fit existing upper and lower pipes. Since I hae a 50 trim turbo Dave made a custom lower pipe for my application. I hope he was correct in his calculations but am confidant he would make it right should an adjustment be required. His service is my second reason for choosing his FMIC. How many companies are there where you can speak to the owner? That lower pipe from the 50 trim which has an elbow facing the passenge side cost me $75. The IC itself was $549. Shipping a whopping $7.!!
So far I have the black plastic that wraps around just behind the bumper off along with the PS cooling loop. I bought 4' of rubber hose to replace the loop so I will have options on it's placement. Dejon says the bumper needs to be removed. I'm going to try very hard to avoid that, pray for me! I'll remove the intake pipe tonight and perhaps the stock sidemount tomorrow. Along with the lower IC hose. mark

I was the first to get one of exteme imports intercooler. I bought the hahn rip off kit. Complete junk. I pressure tested it right when I got it and found like 30 leaks in the welds. The inside smelled like radiator fluid and had a coolant like build up. The machine polish that it comes with is nothing more then somebody with a grinder. The piping is junk. And it took about a month for them to give me my money back. Stay away from it and buy a good kit.

OneFastEclipse, have you looked into the JR or Johnny Race Car Intercoolers on ebay and making your own piping? With everything, the entire project would only cost $400-$500 for a nice side to side flow cooler with a good sized core 25x8x3. Or are you just looking to pay the extra money for a bolt on kit?

Thanks for the info Chris. How long ago was this purchase? You said they did return your cash but dragged it out? One thing I am curious about is the pic with the inlet showing tubes and fins as the compressed air enters the turbo. Is it an extreme standard? It looks restrictive. mark

I bought it about 2 months ago. Yes it dragged on for a while. The core did look pretty restrictive, but I didn't examine it too much because I was worried about the rest of the stuff.
