Ok I have a 14b w/the 16g 7cm on it and I'm wondering what the reasonable max boost I can run it at. By "reasonable" I mean: 1. I don't want to kill the turbo in a month just to get 5 extra hp (10hp is another story :D j/k). 2.I guess this kinda goes w/ no.1 but I don't want to take it pass the point where it is blowing more hot air than my IC (Dejon Tool "Super Big" SMIC) can compensate for.

Also, what kind of ballpark AWHP is that good for w/ my mods. Thanks in advance :thumb:

Still on stock injectors? With 450's you will be limited to about 15 psi with those mods.

The 14b has been pushed up 23 psi reliably WITH PROPER SUPPORTING MODS. The turbo is not the limiting factor in your case, it's the fuel injectors that are limiting your power/boost.

The best way to know how much boost you can run is to hook up the logger and watch the knock and timing.

Yeah I'd say if you stuck some 550s in your fuel rail, and had a fmic, with a properly tuned safc, you'd could probably lay down some high twelves fairly easily (running 20 psi + ). Is your turbine housing ported btw?

Its not ported, I wish I could have had it done when it was going on but funds are low. So I guess the answer is take it as high as 23psi based on the knock # on my logger, right? Then go get some injectors.

Start low, 15psi or so, then work your way up. Theres no set limit.

Yeah, its too bad you don't have it ported...you should take it out and port it out yourself...its fairly easy to do. I'm saving up to buy one of the 14b housings off of ebay (it comes ported, and flows even better than the 16g 7cm^2, AND has an ajustable wastegate arm, AND has a ported wastegate to eliminate boost creep) but it costs like $220.00. Its made out of steel so it shouldn't crack so easy like the mitsubishi cast iron does. If your sure your knock sensor works, then yeah, I'd turn the boost up as high as it will go until you start getting knock, Although you don't really hear much about people running 25+ psi from a 14b setup because the air starts to get really hot at that point. The front mounted intercooler is your friend when your pushing a small turbo (like the 14b) to its limits. This will help you run even higher boost pressures without knock. If you can afford one I'd get one (I know I sure can't). I'm busy searching the local scrapyards for a supra sidemount.
