Well we have opened up a bad can of worms with the BS remove.

As you know upon removal of the front cover which has the oil pump we notice very bad ware on the pump. Then once we had the oil pan down there was lots of metal in the pan. Which is why the oil pump looked so bad from metal running through it. We pull the rod bearings 1st which looked fine then the middle main thrust bearing which does not look fine.

These car can run ok for quite some time with main bearing problems but now that I have it apart I dont want to put it back together with out fixing it right which is not cheap.

Most of the time when I see this problem its a Main line problem in the block.

Right now we are about $200 in labor into the car to find these problems. Most of the time its around $3000 to do a budget rebuild and goes up from there.

At this point I am at least 2 weeks till I can even get started on a project like this

what do u all think?:cry:

Yeah only problem is..i put it in there (300 miles away) to english racing for BSE and timing belt then they told me the bad news.. so im just gunna get this done with and put it behind me its 3000 total not just in labor.

shit i have a 2.4l stroker ill sell you for 2200 BRAND NEW

manley i beams
weisco pistons
acl mains
yada yada ya

let me know.

if the crank is fine I would just slap some new bearing in and some new rings (if thecylinders are fine) and your good to go. All together with you doing labor maybe 200 max. I put eagle rod and mahle pistins and manley springs for $900 maybe 1000 with machine work

I'd buy moto-rx's stroker. Spend the other $800 paying somebody to do the motor swap in your yard.

I know Mitsu shops here in Seattle that will do a tranny swap for $250, and engines start at $500.
All they do are Eclipses.

Before buying a motor off of anyone, unless a well known builder inspect it well.

Its a gamble buying a motor when you don't know who the builder is.
