Would i be able to re use a cometic mls head gasket again after it was tourqed down but never ran? it was probably on for about a week or 2.

If it never ran why are you removing it?
because i took the head off and couldnt tell the valves were bent so i put it back on and had to take it back off. The head is re done and new rings and rod bearings but its burning oil so the head has to come back off, i was just curious if the old gasket could be usable but im gonna get a new one

How do you know it's burning oil if you say it was never ran?
It was never ran with the head gasket that i was asking if it would be safe to re use. i got it running after the valves, guides, seals, rod bearings and piston rings were all done. i just wanted to save 100 dollars if i could but i already decided im getting a new head gasket im not taking any chances i have had the head off too many times

If they've only been torqued to their indicated value, generally they can be used at least once. You only really know for certain if they're good if you measured their length prior to install. That would tell you whether they've stretched, but ARP has been quoted as saying if they don't feel spongy when hitting their recommended torque value, they should be ok. That quote can be found somewhere on this site.

I've reused a set up to twice, some others here 6 or more times.
