Can you re-use a cometic head gasket?

The cometic head gasket was installed upon the engine rebuild and it never had any miles put on it. It just was parked idling and the belt snapped and bent valves. I removed the head and im wondering if i can reuse the gasket. Can I?

I wouldn't see why not, it was just idle time. I have reused my cometic a couple times. I just cleaned it up and put it back on. I only replaced it once, but that was because I got a good deal on the one I have now.

+1 get a felpro composite and some studs

you "can" reuse the gasket but alot of people wouldnt recommend it. it only had idle time on it but thats an area you dont want things to go wrong at.

It's fine, you can reuse it.
