ok so I just got home yesterday from a long 30 days in Louisiana doing some army training and I got to start my car and the battery's dead.. so no biggie I tried jumping it and no luck so I bought a new battery put it in and voala it turns on. Heres where all the madness starts, so I notice my radio isn't on so I press the button but no luck (its aftermarket by the way) andthen I go and turn on my headlights for the hell of it and my horn starts going off and wont shut the #### up which is weird so I go to turn the lights on and when
I flip the switch the lights stay on and the horn keeps on honking. I took both fuses out from the engine bay and no im stumped. oh and by the way when I was jumping the car my buddy pu the cables on backwards on the battery just wondering if this could have anything to do with this madness.

Stuff that doesn't work:
Door Locks
Power windows
interior lights
radio
cig lighter
pretty much anyghing inside except my gauge cluster and all those switches by the streeing wheel.

Ive checked all the fuzes and nothings bad Im going to try unhooking the ecu and plugging it back on. help me please LOL

jumping a car with a completly computer controled engine can fry the ecu. also there is probly a control unit for the interior electronics. i would say that is fied. im not sue though as i have 1G. hooking the battery up backwards can really screw stuff up when it come to elctronics......:|

it is your Room fuse... the same thing happened to me when i was wiring my stereo i dont know what trips it.... but look on ## fuse box for the "room" fuse and replace it

Ok so I got the car started again and when I tried to take it for a ride again it died  and it got me thinking :| that the car was running on the batter and not the alternator so I checked the fuses inside the engine bay again and voala!!!! the fuse for the alternator 100amp was blown put in a new one and everythings back to normal.ROFL I guess when my dumb buddy put connected the wires to the battery backwards it just blew the fuse... good thing I didn't try to turn the car on and release all that electricity through the system... oh and it also blew the fuse to my amp but everything is good now:cool::thumb:

i think you might have a short in your system and it more than likely started with the cig. lighter thats a known prob with most vehicles

these days its kind of hard to fry your ecu.. now we have diodos in are car which they only let current travel one way..:thumb:

My car is doing the same thing basically. but when i put the alternator choke fuse in and reconnect the positive side on the battery the fuse blows. i cant figure out why. nothing in the cabin works either but my head lights and stuff work
