I've got a 1992 Eclipse 1g, but I've been having problems with overheating. I noticed the fans won't spin, one is completely broken and the other still works when applying 12v directly. In combination when I press the AC button the light won't turn on, maybe related? (Not that AC ever worked but the light at least did)

Where do I start troubleshooting? I already swapped out the Radiator fan relay with the horn relay but no change. Any help is appreciated!

Have you checked all fuses? I'd start with that, especially since multiple things aren't working all of a sudden.

You mention that the AC switch doesn't light up anymore... the AC switch gets power via the interior fan switch, which gets control power from fuse #3 in the drivers side interior fuse box (See diagram). This same fuse powers the AC control unit. The lights (amber/green) only come on when the interior fan switch is ON. Does your interior blower fan work or did it also stop?

The radiator cooling fan is supposed to cycle on and off based on a temperature sensor (screwed into the radiator) when the AC is off. When the AC is on, the radiator cooling fan and the condenser fan both run (that temp sensor gets bypassed by the condenser fan hi-lo relay).

Thanks for the detailed response! I've checked all the fuses but they're all intact. The interior blower fan also still works. I'll check more relays and make sure the radiator fan also didn't die in the meantime.

Sorry for not replying sooner. It indeed turned out the temperature sensor was busted. I've replaced it together with a set of new fans. It still doesn't come on when I press the AC button but I've learned to live without (not that it gets that hot here). For now I am happy it doesn't overheat anymore. Again thanks for the help!
