So today at work, things are slow. I brought my spyder in to put my Mishimoto radiator back in. I got everything in and started the burping process with the funnel that connects to the rad cap. I had it running for at least 45 minutes and still nothing with my fans. They won't turn on. I had this exact issue last summer and that's when I put my OEM one back in. Had no problems with the fans after that. But again, they're not coming on with the aluminum rad. So I decided to turn it off, cap everything up and fill the overflow res. Then I restarted my car. After a few minutes, the overflow just about overflowed like the t-stat isn't opening. I know it works.

Could the fans not be coming on because it's an aluminum rad? What could cause the overflow issue?

I know the car is warmed up, according to the gauge which is fed from a sensor I bought new last summer. Likewise with the ECT sensor.

Edit: As of just posting this, my rad fan came on. Does it just take longer because of the upgraded rad?

So now that the fan is cycling on and off, the over flow res keeps filling up over and over after I drain it. What the heck does that mean??

You're absolutely right Brian. Had one of my fellow techs bring over his cap pressure tester and bam... cap won't hold even 1psi. Lucky for me, I have a brand new OEM cap in storage not even 2 minutes away from work, so I'm gonna go grab that and put it on.

I had the same issue with my SPAL fans on my fludydine radi. I changed the cap and using the stock relay sensor wire and running the fans with their own power source and relay. I also got a lower temp thermostat, and lowered the fan switch using ceddy mods turns on now at 90c not 115c like it was stock. Doing logs and all with evoscan I am usually right around 90-92c after a few hard pulls and the fans will kick on. You have to remember the stock fans have 3 speeds and will kick on at differant times. If your new fans don't kick on in time or acting funky then I can only think you have them wired up wrong.

Lol wow go fig I hit submitt and two more post have been added.... Glad you fig it out though!!!

Well got a new cap on, and ran out of f@%king fuel. I hate my crappy fuel gauge. Got some in, now it smokes more than before. My patience is running thin with this damn smoke issue.

These are the OEM fans Joe. Just swapped them onto my Mishimoto radiator. They're hooked up right and all. The only thing I can think of is maybe they took longer to cycle because there's more coolant now.
