Quitters- soon ghosts to us (selling/sold my DSM)

As I read through this thread I can't help but feel like a lot of you will be back someday. You can see from my join date that I have been a DSMer for a while. I owned 5-6 talons throughout college/law school. I sold my last one when I was unemployed after I graduated (thanks economy).

Now 5 years later, even though I have a 2012 Boss 302 sitting in my driveway I just couldn't resist picking up a 1g again when the right opportunity presented itself. There is something about these cars that is just a bit too addictive. :)

Well I've had her for over 7 years, but it's time to finally move on. Put my Eclipse up for sale. The DSMtuner's community has been so much help for me over all these years. I may not have had the privilege of driving a turbo DSM, but it's still a DSM and I had a lot of fun with it, and she did turn heads a lot (for its looks).

...and I'm not telling you guys what my new car is going to be yet :p but I promise to post it in the hangout section when it arrives ;)

It's not "Good bye", Trav83, it's "See you later" :)

Well I might check out what's going on in the hangout section every once in a great while, but I most likely won't own another DSM in this lifetime. The car I'm getting is going to take a long time to pay off.

I was only kidding anyway about saying "Don't everyone say good bye at once" I know nobody really pays attention to this thread anymore. Most just create a new Goodbye thread of their own to get more attention in spite of what the moderators want.

These cars aren't for the timid, that's for sure, especially with them being as old as they are. They're classics now and in many cases need restoration and mechanical know-how for the quirky issues they have. Same can be said for just about any turbo car of the same era. Naturally aspirated cars might be easier to deal with.

Curious, what year Mustang are you getting (or did you get)?

I haven't owned a dsm in like 6 years, but it is still in my blood. This is still hands down the best car forum on the whole interweb so i participate, LOL.

I am with you Bryan, except I have never owned a DSM, but there are 2 1g AWD in my back yard for storage.

If you think a Turbo DSM is a pain, get a Turbo Ford.... You will learn what pain is!

But I do agree, this is the best car fourm on the web.

Anyhow, OP, I am with Luda, what stang did you get?

You will most certainly be back. I got rid of my DSM last year but somehow found myself buying one this past week... Although I'm only flipping it (previous owner didn't know how to put a head on and time it) I WILL have another DSM at some point.

My Subaru just doesn't cut it =p

I know that pain pretty well. I own a higher mileage 97 f250. That thing is the biggest money pit that i have ever owned. First year of the new body style, 250k miles, one thing after the next. Got it real cheap, but I have spent far more fixing it than buying it, LOL. I will definitely own another dsm one day when i am not so unsuccessful in the money department. The ford truck forums are completely useless also. Trying to get some torque specs, wiring schematics and so on is near impossible and i am on 3 different ford truck sites. Really makes me appreciate this site.

So... Dale, you have 2 DSM :)

No, i had one for a while, but had to sell it because i couldn't afford to work on it.

Oh gotcha, I’m kind of a z guy at heart. Help build a few of them. I go to Branson Z-fest every year at the end of May. Always a good time cruzin through Ozarks. My brother and mum both still have tt z32's. Your right though, z parts are crazy expensive and most of the time you have to get double. I was just curious after seeing your avatar.
