as stated above i only used the best parts, i invested over 12k in my one and i ended up trading it bc it ran like s**t. at least with a chevy there is no timing belt to slip or snap. or rub.

Well it wasn't the car and it wasn't the parts, so what's left? :shhh:

The problem why many people say dsm's aren't reliable is because they see a highly modded dsm and buy it without trully knowing what was done to it. Now on the other hand, if you get a stock to lightly modded dsm, driven by someone with sense in them it will last you and be highly reliable.

No, its because they are old and unreliable.

I got out of the DSM world for 3 months, then came crawling back to her.

i live in one of my dads rental, with his shop behind it. i was instucted that as long as i live here, there is not to be another 4 cylinder that enters it LOL

crankplate was not installed backwards LOL, yes the washer fluid line was hooked up to the intake

and that car was crushed LOL

Sad, I would have bought her back from you in non-running condition once parted out. Hate to see a car destroyed by abuse.

Also, I wrote a detailed tech article on the timing issue of the white car. It was, indeed, installed incorrectly and threw timing out of the ballpark by some odd 28*? By some grace of God there was never any contact. Not to mention the intake manifold gasket was pretty destroyed and had to be replaced, the head gasket was replaced due to the amount of liquid being compressed in the combustion chambers, skirting under it's surface where it would not compress and caused an inconsistent sealing surface. Luckily it never bent a rod, damaged a valve, etc. Spark plug wiring was wrong. PTU wiring was incorrect. Adjustable cam gears were locked 2* retarded on the exhaust side.

She pulled very, very, very nice once I fixed everything. :) Should have ridden in it. It was a joy.

many people hate the body style and idk why LOL... i will have after machine work, buying the car and building a new motor around 3500. i cant buy a awd talon for that, let alone build a 350hp one for the same price. plus i will be going to the strip a lot and this will do tons better than a talon could with the same hp rating.

you have to remember i bought it for 1250 minus motor. and a clean fox body cant be found under 4500 up here

I paid 1k for my most recent dsm with a fmic, built bottom end, evo 16g, suspension, wheels, and a stack of 50 receipts with it and all it needed was a trans and slave. So for 1500 I had a 1g with let's say 300 whp. I see notch fox's rollers for 1200-1500 all the time atleast 1 every 2 weeks here. :hellyeah:

couldnt have been to good with a t25 and stock cams LOL. nevertheless, its in better hands now. glad to see you got shafted on your next trade. plus the car never ran long enough to damage anything. plus i got a car with a blown headgasket. abuse i think not. i put 50 miles on it when i had it. compared to the 13 miles you put on mine. oh well, im done talking about the issue.

Blown after that day of 30+ PSI pulls you performed on narrow band simulation which was specifically setup to get you home due to the failed 02 sensor? And you got it with a bad HG? I mean, after I have 3 videos of me driving it to the truck that it was loaded onto and brought to you? Why, sir, I think not. From my experience a blown headgasket that would cause 'catastrophic engine failure', I believe was the term you used, would not allow me to drive the car daily, with video and photographic evidence all the way up to it's final moments in my ownership?

See, I was fine letting you post your little farewell - but when you started acting dumb about why the Panda DSM wouldn't run and just kept dancing around it.. it irritated me. The simple fact is that you don't know how to care for these vehicles and tend to destroy cars that this community knows, respected, and knew was taken care of.

And Shafted? That little GSX I got? That thing netted me a few grand, a Stock 2G AWD, and a built VR4 with over $40,000 invested in it. I was quite thankful to get a hold of that car. So I guess in the end you helped me. However, you didn't need to destroy a car due to your carelessness.

This was TDC on the Panda the day I got it. Mmm...

This sure is a sexy thing to drive. Got it by trading that non-running GSX I got rid of the Panda for (shafted, I think you said I got? ) + cash for me. ;)

But I missed Wrex so much I bought a replacement.

So all in all, thank you. I learned a lot from that shaft - it felt pretty damned good coming out ahead. It just feels terrible knowing that something that so much time and actual effort went into was wasted in a day or so.

And oh was she taken care of. Taken care of just like her sister. Just keep in mind that this green Talon. This one I daily drove and loved.. has now been crushed by this incompetent 'mechanic'. Anyone in their right mind would have driven miles to pick up even a SHELL in half the condition Wrex was in.

i got the car and could barely make it the 6 miles to my home, and not once did i ever do 30 plus psi haha, i like to see you make up stories to make yourself sound good. i got the car and drove it home, and put a wideband in right away. i came out pretty far ahead as well, i paid 850 for the panda and had roughly 4k in parts in it, traded you cars and parted yours out for 8k. plus what i had laying around. and the car drove fine until temps came up, so your "videos" of you driving a couple blocks proved nothing. so why dont you make your way back to your weight loss thread:tease:

and read post 27, i stated it exactly how it was

plus you cant see the crank marks so that picture proves nothing. if the belt was put on that far out, valves would have smacked as the head and block was milled

These dsm's are fun street cars, but thats as far as i would ever take one. Its common knowledge that a larger displacement engine makes more power more reliably. Mate that to a bullet proof trans and rear end and v8 muscle cars are basically indestructible in comparison.

I know that my dsm will probably never see anything larger then a 16g. I bought it as a cheap, quick, weekend warrior. I just cant believe when people put the time and money into a dsm to the extent that they're going full tube chassis, ford rear, chevy trans, all to mate a tiny 2.0L to it and scatter the motor every season.

i agree, i realized after 1 build it was foolish. these cars arent really all that great for drag, granted there is some fast cars out there, but when your making over 150 hp per cylinder, its hard not to trash stuff.

ive never had an axle snap on me, even leaving at 5k on a transbrake

1 : I happen to have the facebook screenshot saved on my work PC. ;) You were out doing "Tuning Pulls". Should reaaaallly think before you try to deny something. I can dig those up.

2 : You went home and put in a Wideband? Why? You installed a second wideband? Why would you do that when it had a wideband installed running 02 simulation? Seeming pretty knowledgeable so far.

3 : You invested 4K in a car, and parted Wrex out for 8k, and I bet you were lowballed the entire time. How would I know this? Because Wrex was built quality, without a single issue. People knew this.

4 : You don't need to see the crank marks. Everyone knows that our rotating assembly rotates in a clockwise motion. Those cam gears have the 3:00 timing marks at about 1:20 there. This was with the crank at TDC as displayed by that screwdriver - an old fashioned trick that people have used for how many decades? Looks like the valves were still open at this point, the crank was at TDC, thus why you could never get the car running right. If needed, I can whip out the pictures of the crank as well from my work PC tomorrow morn'. Starting to see a pattern here. :hmm:

5 : With the adjustable cam gears, the material removed from the head and block, and the thickness of the HG, did you not know that you had to compensate somewhere for the timing belt? That, coupled with the fact that the crank plate was incorrectly installed, might have been a contributing factor as to why you had issues with the timing. I mean, with the exhaust timing gear locked 2* out was that your way of trying to compensate for it? I'm just trying to be clear here over the bullshit I had to correct to even get this car to pull itself up the ramps. I mean afterall - you invested a whopping 4K in it. You should know. You're the residential expert. :aha:

6 : My weight loss thread? Are we trying to insinuate that a male who has the physique of a woman is fat? My apologies, some of us like being healthy.

Go on with your boat cars and get out of here already. You've demolished a DSM that could have been a wonderful vehicle in the hands of someone more knowledgeable, the proof is there and everyone can see through the bullshit. That car was well taken care of and everyone who knows me know this - including the moderation staff.

For the record, I don't have to make myself 'sound good'. My knowledge, helpfulness, and calling people out on bullshit (Despite getting my hand whacked a couple of times for doing so) have earned me the reputations and friends I need to back my claims of the aforementioned. Now before you go off bragging about the "DSMs" you built and destroyed, remember that it's easy to tell the difference between a bullshitter and a knowledgeable mechanic.

PS : I just found the following texts -
1 : You asking me if the Panda was really a 2.3.
2 : You telling me you were doing pulls up to 7k.
3 : You telling me it drove great, but you were driving careful home.
4 : Me asking how it was doing and you acting ecstatic about it.

I doubt any knowledgeable member that had 'built' an engine and with a car with a blown HG would act that way or ask those silly questions.

Check and Mate. (Pics on request!)

Sucks for your credit here - I actually have pictures and proof of your dumbassery.

Check back soon for all of your whiny ass" The panda was too much for me. " "Was it a 2.3"? " It runs good." "I killed it at 7k!"

Like seriously, dumb-ass, I'd start admitting this shit before I start posting it. otherwise you're going to look like even more of a ####ing moron. You know this, right?

By the way - "And yes that would make you fat, you thought you could sit at a computer all day and not be fat. I run daily, lift a couple times a week so ## the only one that "wants to look good" haha, I would stomp you little girl. Im 6'2about and can bench 225 4 times. I weigh 185. "

That made you look like a slobbering test tube reject. I happen to be 6'2 as well, can do the same bench, and happen to get droolingly excited about violence - so don't try to intimidate someone who's about 20lbs heavier than you. I simply want to get back in the shape I was before I landed a wonderful job. Lose 40, pack on 10-15 in muscle. You know the drill. Weight doesn't mean a thing when it comes to stand ground. ;) Then again, only morons threaten one another over the inter-toobs.

haha you crack me up, i do believe i read that you need to lose 60 lbs, ya, 20 lbs heavier..100% fat. you think a guy that fat and looks like a fairy with his stringy hair can bench 225. not a chance, it takes a long time to work your way up to that bench and you did it in what 2 weeks? and "killed it" is something i would never say haha. like i said whatever helps you sleep at night. and i stopped boxing my junior year, so ya it kinda does mean something . why is there weight classes in mma and boxing? rest my case

and could it be that i asked if was a 2.3, because it was slow, due to a blown hg? i think so:tease:

Evil tsi, I can fully back up the true dsm community when I say we are glad you finally got out of the game.

Your car is unreliable because you're a sh*tty mechanic? Weird how that works.

In summation, kids like you are the reason why our cars have the rep they do.

It was 40. Might want to go back and quote the texts. Geeze. Already sounding moronic.

My apologies for the low quality. The captivate will not screen shot without being rooted. :) I can get higher quality once the lady returns. For now I'll detail. It's not so bad you can't read it, but I'll spoon feed you.

This is you, correct?

I have no idea at all, it seemed to be alright when I drove it but I was only going like 20 mph. when I got the car it had a blown engine so ikd man, i'm

This was after asking about the transmission in the Panda after you had assured it was in perfect condition.

"That's crazy man. Lucky stuff man, im glad you figured it out though. Mine is a 2.3l too right?" - 1:55PM, Oct 25 2011

After I told you about the crank issue and verified directly after that the engine was a 2.3. Shouldn't you know this?

"ugh. The car stalled on a second gear pull at 7k rpm. And struggled to start back up" - 7:18PM, Oct 24 2011

But wait - I thought the car barely made it back home?! How the hell were you doing 7k pulls? And I assure you that at 7k on that narrowband simulation you weren't running stock levels, thus why it was getting ready to blow having not swapped out from narrowband Simulation or properly setting it up for this kind of driving. I have another text where you detail it. My point here - if you knew there was something wrong.. wouldn't you have parked it and not gone out and did 7k pulls?

"Ya the guy said it runs pretty good when he unloaded it before he stalled it 3 times" - 10:47PM, Oct 18 2011

You told me that even the trucker who drove the car onto the trailer and off of it said it drove good. as I recall they have to inspect it. ;) I drove it to him. Problems? I doubt it.

"Wow, the car was a little much for me, glad you have the dsm know how to get it straightened out. Also is this motor a 2.3l as well? What crank?" - 9:40PM, Oct 25 2011

You openly admit you had no former "know how" to fix the issue. This was me telling you that I had resolved the issue with the timing. You also then questioned the 2.3 bottom end on Wrex and the crank which I shared with you directly after that, yes, it was and the style of crank.

So this is the teaser. ;) Going to move the entire text log over and upload it tomorrow if you'd like - in pristine quality. There I can highlight my responses, your statements about feeling bad because the Talon had a ton of issues whenever I received it, and about how you were enjoying Wrex. I failed to upload the picture where you said you were "Driving her" up to the shop to have it aligned. This was days after you had received it. Again - you'd think someone who got a car that could "barely make it the 6 miles home" when you received it wouldn't ####ing drive it.

Idiot.

Again - this isn't to point out that you did anything wrong other than accuse someone of trading you a bad car, you denying you're at fault for blowing it up, and then you crushed it - a perfectly good DSM - because you lack a proper amount of brain cells.

@evil tsi, if your so smart why do you bother trolling forums? Start a blog a be a critic of something like food or movies. I have read this whole thread to grasp an idea of where this started and why it's gotten to this point. And as far as I can surmise you don't have to patience to own a DSM. While I'm newish to them I have been in the car game for over 13 years. I've had the privilege of driving exotics and the misfortune of dealing with scrap heaps. You just seem to be in the wrong game. You seem to enjoy rockets, make it super fast and then BOOM. These cars are more like jet fighters and need that kind of respect. People spend hours upon hours learning how to tune before they tune. You seem to like to tinker more than tune. So its good you found another platform to play with. You will most likely enjoy it far more and it will save some DSMs for guys that enjoy them more.

As far as your back and forth and tit for tat, that's also saying far more about you than you know.

The views and expressions in this post are not approved by the management of the forum and no DSMs where harmed in the making of this post ;)

I promise I'm done Craig. Just give this to me.

He's spewing bullshit, I've provided proof otherwise. There's nowhere else to take it.

It doesn't accomplish anything though at this point, other than enforce an image of bickering for our site. It sounds like you came out alright on the deal in the end, and it seems he isn't cut out to be working on cars like DSMs.

I think everyone has gotten the gist of what's going on by now. ;)

Aye aye Captain my Captain. Just making it clear that we here like to have evidence of our claims and take pride in all accounts of our work.
