Quitters- soon ghosts to us (selling/sold my DSM)

Oh wow that is a really clean 300zx! You are not the only one who left the DSM community, I left last year because I needed something more reliable and better on gas. I got myself a Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5s.

It's not as fast as the 97 GS-T I had (interesting I sold my car at about 173k miles on it with rebuild engine of 10k), but my current car is coming along nicely.

Really...? I mean maybe this thread title could have been thought about a little longer. Kind of an insult IMO. By no means did I say I was a "quitter" because I sold my GS-T and got a much more reliable car. Hell, I have a 98 GS-T in my garage as of right now that is my cousins. We've been in the process of completely overhauling the entire car from ground up because it had been through so many owners it was trashed. It has a fully built 6-bolt motor , Shep trans, stronger halfshafts, stronger hubs, holset externally gated via Tial, hell the weakest point in the thing is the ACT2600 clutch and it'll need a good buff job on the paint. I may have only a little over 100 posts but I have personally been through 2 Eclipses. A GS-T Spyder and a GS-T hatch. The Spyder was a nightmare from the beginning. I had 2 motors crankwalk on me, the Spyder's motor at 57,xxx (right after I bought it) and my hatch at 168,xxx (though this was OK with me being that it was the original motor). I have rebuilt more than a handfull of these motors, I know the ins and outs of them and could probably re-build another one with one arm and blind-folded. I have shared an ample amount of knowledge on here, posted write-ups on various things and have been courteous and respectful to everyone.

I may have left the DSM world like I said, but the DSM world hasn't left me. I will forever be working on these cars because where I live there are quite a few of DSM's and it seems that I always get the pleasure of working on them. Hell, I even still have my Mitsubishi banners/signs hanging in my garage from the dealership that closed down here in Hermitage...And I managed to get those because I was their #1 customer

Just wanted to state how I felt. I'm not leaving the forums, either. So I will be on and off of here sharing my knowledge with all of you. So just because I don't have a DSM anymore doesn't make me a "ghost to everyone" like the thread title sates.

Well, never thought I would sell my DSM but I did. Went from a 95 Eagle Talon ESi to a 95 Mitsubishi 3000gt SL. Pearl white with black leather interior. So far I am enjoying it, but a part of me still misses my DSM I had for 5 years. Maybe someday I will come back. I'll still be browsing the forums.

I'm officially out of the dsm world. Last night me and my Gsx went our seperate ways. It's time to move on;I have been into dsms for 6 1/2 years and it has been great no complaints. I have gone through 3 of them Laser RS,Gst;Gsx. I just wanted to say thanks to all the dsmers on this site for all the great information and technical support you have given me.

how much did you sell it for man ? what is the fair price of a nice ride like yours in your area ?? here eclipse 95-99 will go for maximum 3500 USD if they are clean . they dont have market in here and neither spare parts . very rare.

Well, as much as it breaks my heart, I'm selling both my 2g AWD talons. I am 21 2 kids, married, and my wife is trying to obtain status in the US. I have fought tooth and nail to keep my cars going and reliable while trying to convince my better half that they are worth it. My 5 spd talon is a 95 AWD with 117k on the clock. Needs a new starter, wires, plugs, and air filter. Then it will be good to go! Very modest mods done, exhaust intake but mostly stock. My other is a red auto 96 AWD talon with 114k on the clock, completely stock, including the original cd player. I am hoping to get 5k out of the both of them. Will probably try and get a 4 door Honda and spend what left making my wife legal in the USA. This site has been incredibly helpful through my whole ordeal. I started knowing only that boost was BA. I now have done an engine swap, several HG jobs, multiple timing jobs, exhausts, clutch change, auto rebuild, and all the million little things in between. I hope to get back in the game within a few years. I know these cars are getting old and harder to come by in good condition. Luckily the price is dropping.

I wish it was that easy, we have to file an application for her residency, which cost approximately 1800. And even then they can say no.

As long as it isn't a fake marriage, then you should be good to go. Lots of people like to become residents by "marrying" a citizen.

And as for the DSM world, I left as well and bought a Talon instead (). But at least the Talon is running....for now.

i as well decided to call it quits i was balls deep in my build and all of a sudden just STOPPED working. dont have the money to finish it, and im getting shipped out for the army late January. i know i cant go with out some sort of awd/turbo car so my plans are to either pick up an evo or an sti after boot camp and AIT.

I sold my 90 talon tsi awd yesterday and I feel a lot better now that it's gone, I put about 100 miles on it and I dumped a ton of money into it (~$2000). I don't care what some people say, I have yet to meet a person with a reliable DSM. They all seem to be allergic to being driven. I can't predict what I'll be doing in the future, but if I came back to the DSM world it would take nothing short of a miracle. Personally, I don't like these cars anymore. I like to drive my cars every once in a while, but I guess you don't get to do that to a DSM.

Im also thinking of parting out the dsm. Just had my clutch go out and some punk asses busted out a window and took all kinds of shit. I don't have the money to fix it. I can get good money parting it out and could use it to catch up. I'm thinking of a hyabusa as my next purchase. Cheap insurance, fast out of the box and I can ride all day on $2.

people giving up on their DSM's its a sad world . It just depends. All DSMs need work, however the 4g63 are the best 4 cyls in the world and the speed and hp potential is just tremendous. Not to mention the AWD which i freaking live by being that I am in Nebraska. This car cuts through anything, and it is faster than hell which is always a plus. I have owned it for exactly 2 months to the day and have spent over $400 in parts, mostly sensors and whatnot since it sat for 7 and a half years in a garage. has 92,000 original on it right now and is clean really clean actually. DSM=doesnt start much but damn i dont care i love my car and back these bitches to the end!!!! DSM=domestic shitty mechanics but I love that too!!!! DSM=damn short of a maserati but it can be as fast as one!!! DSM=doesnt stop mesmerizing which is what these cars have done to me, honestly I couldnt love a human child as much as i love these cars.
