I currently have a Type S Bov, recirculated small single spring mod. Second port...is not connected...

Well bad idea..no fluttering and Greddy Signature sound...but leaks like crazy!!!

Screw the single spring mod, I'm putting them both in and connecting the second port.

Except one problem...

Here's my question.

Can I Tee of the second port of the Bov to a boost source from the turbo housing even though it's connected straight to the wastegate?

Why? I don't want it to flutter...I tried venting the second port and it still flutters all the time no matter what.

DO the single spring mod & connect up the second port like you say, to a boost source. I teed mine from the same line as the BCS from the compressor housing. Reacts a lot quicker too.

Still didn't answer my question, you just told me what to do and what you did...

I already have a single spring mod except it's the small one, and it whistles fine blows off great but leaks at idle.

I have no BCS(I do but it's not workig so it's not connected)
Nor do I have a MBC
My "Only BOOST source" is connected to the wastegate...

Question is and was , if I can Tee the lower port of the BoV off that line between the wastegate and turbo housing boost source?

What makes you assume you dont need a BCS?

I also had to tee mine to eliminate flutter, you should be fine. I'm done with the hks and type s. 1 gen is where it's at. Went through two type s, punishment types s, 2 hks gen 1 and 4.

Like I said, MY STOCK boost controller ...is not working properly ...so it's not connected!...it's not that I don't need one! Or want one!

I have my cars only boost source(compressor housing nipple) connected directly to the Internal wastegate! To avoid problems! Till I get my hands on a MBC!

I disagree. I did answer your question. Go think through the vacuum line pumping and reread where I stated I placed my tee.

I dont think that will avoid all problems but maybe i'm wrong.

I don't have the money for a HkS plus when I did I couldn't find a dam recirculating fitting for it ..

I'm stock wht the type S, which is better than my stock broken BOv

I disagree. I did answer your question. Go think through the vacuum line pumping and reread where I stated I placed my tee.

Unless, you telling me what you did...is another way of answering my question...I guess you did answer my question.

I don't see a solid answer ...so from what I read , your trying to tell me that "NO!" I cannot Tee the second port of the BOV to the line that connects the boost source directly to the wastegate right???!

You stated that YOU connected your second port to a boost source...the line that goes to your BCS.

Well here's my problem...my BCS is not connected, (for now) my boost source is connected to the wastegate to hold whatever the wastegate pressure holds.

I ran a single spring mod Type S on my Evo 8. Never had an issue. That was on 28psi with a 20g.

I would change the spring to the larger spring, but keep it single spring. I also ran a dedicated line from the IM. Try not to T from anywhere. If you need a boost source, put a fitting on the lower intercooler pipe.

If I bypassed my BCS I would have to remove the end of the vacuum line that is connected to the BCS and connect it direct to the wastegate, correct? Would this be like what you have?

If your bov source is hooked up behind the throttle plate the bov will be open in vacuum. the bov is fine. Boost leak test and make sure it holds.

My bov, hooked up to the front of the manifold where the stock bov was hooked up originated...

My bov is fine nothing is wrong with it...

You're supposed to use the larger spring, not the smaller spring, for the reason that it will indeed leak at higher pressures. Switch to it, connect a post-throttle body line to the top nipple and leave the bottom exposed. Done, and ignore the rest of the sillyness in this thread.

Bingo!

I may not have explained right but this is correct!

That...is helpful brother thank you. Will do.

You should be able to get set up now. I call this use of the second port (vent hole) routing "push me/pull you". It's essentially the same thing as the 1G BOV mod where a hole is drilled thru to the underside of the diaphragm to help keep them closed at higher boost levels.

I have an EVO IX OEM BOV, Greddy Type-FV, NGR Type-S, and HKS Ver3 W/Recirc Fittings and a Greddy Flange...

I'd possibly be willing to sell one if you are in need...

Yes, under vacuum the BOV will open. Just boost leak test the valve for when its under boost. If the that checks good the BOV is good. And TSiawd666 is right with the spring choice.

Did what TSIAwD666 said,

Single large spring mod, second port vented

Car only flutters at lower RPMs but has a whistle right after, at full boost it whistles just fine, no leak at idle. Thank you brother

Will buy a MBC soon
