2G quick question. Connecting DSMlink cable

I cant get my cable to hook up to my laptop. the laptop has a female serial fitting and the cable also has a female serial fitting. what do I need to get it to hook up and where can I get it?

go to your local radioshack and get a female to male converter for a serial cable. It will most likely be like 6 bucks or something.

You can also use a serial to USB.

well went to radioshack and got a db9 male to male and then come to find out that the serial connection on my lap top is db15?

The DB15 won't work, that's for video. Do you have a usb port on your laptop?
