I was readin aboutthe HTA68 specs in the other thread and decided to start this on oppsed to going way OT on his.
So according to that chart the compressor wheel is capable of around 420 horse at 30psi at around 70% efficiency. I've been reading about this turbo here and there and wondering what else is in the family and if those are built in the same fashion? Meaning using a small housing, and crammin in a larger and taller wheel that is capable of meeting my no nitrous power goal of 500 - 550 at it's peak but not spinnin it's guts out, with the fastest spool. And since i'm on forged internals and running e85, i do run 27 - 30psi daily
but i would want the bottle on top if i needed it so i need a decent exhaust housing as well
My questions are
1.) at what RPM can you hit 30psi by?
2.) can it hold 30psi to 7500 RPM on a stock head with a 264/272 cams and stock 1g manifold?
3.)what would be the turbo in this similar family that is capable or pusing enough air to suppoer 550+ HP at ~30 - 35psi
I can't work my construction because the doctors have me written up as temprarily being "disabled" while waiting on a sugery here in a few weeks. And being i can just get enough fab work since i moved to pay my bills (living rent free and all vehicles are paid off) but i have lots of medical bills and credit cards to pay on monthly so i've got to be creative and spend wisely
at majestic turbo when Kevin owned it i went down and i was taught how to machine the housings from one turbo to accept different wheels and have the lathe and experiece to feel confident doing it
BUT My 57 trim compresssor wheel is so beat up that i can't believe i still make the power i do 9everything else is perfect(CHRA, turbine, etc) I had it out a few weeks ago and checked it over...
But the guy i out ran with the 470HP GTO with an extra 125 shot on it, pointed out that i was missin one of the lower height inducer fins even when i was showin him how bad it was before we actually raced
(turned out to be bent downward but still there
) So needless to say i'm in a desperate spot to get a new wheel at bare minimum but would like to upgrade at the same time
I'd like to find a taller wheel that would be sightly larger than the 57trim t-netics wheel and still
It would be sweet if i could make something that worked out real nice but who knows
... my turbo money got caught short from the state farm adjust not believing that the hail shattered my windshiled (i yelled and said "i was in it when it happened, it's not an halucination cause you can still see it" ut because it had a rock chip in it they din't have to cover it anyway
this hails dmage was gonna fund me an hx-35, new slicks and windshiel according to the bosy shop estimate, but when it was all said and one with my 200 dollar deduct, i got fu*&ed so now i'm being super tight with that limited "fund"
So anyone got some ideas or even some spare wheels laying around to toss at the projects it would be apreciated, that way i can still buy tires and a window...I had planned on buying an hx-35 till yesterday, but with my funds, for an hx-35 these days i wouldn't even have money for the oil lines and DP pieces i'd need to put it on once i get the BEP housing
