What would you say about me gun drilling my cams? I can run it on a lathe and rest at work, and we have some 16" long 7/16" and 1/2" bits i can drill them with. I was just thinking about the evo hollow cams and wondering about how this would work with our stockers. As this would be a free trial for me, im just wondering if it would weaken the stock cams too much, or if it would even have a benefit in performance.
 
Don't get me started on I should have gotten guides, but I don't have the tools for that either.But apparently the parts store people are idiots and don't know what tools work with what cars.Story of my life..And Gates stopped making the tensioner so I had to buy one that was 30$ more..But I digress.


Sooo its not for the 4g..I was wondering why it wasn't working...So now what do I do?Besides take the compressor back smart alek.

Send it to a qualified machine shop for proper repairs. :D

ALWAYS use OEM tensioners, too many others fail.

But do not feel bad, i rebuilt a head less than a week ago for a local, he flubbed the timing belt and bent all 8 intakes and 2 exh valves. Car never fired up....

I pull the oil galley plugs and go to run a brush thu the exhaust side HLA oil galley.

The brush stops.:confused:

I look in..

then dig these out...

I wonder how bad the lifter tic was on this head?

Why did some one shove q tips in the damn oil galley , then leave them there?

Hey Dale I got a quick question for you and your expertise !

I'm in the process of my turbo swap, and right now I'm focusing on the head - I'm looking at cams and for my setup I'll be running high compression/low boost , I'm wondering if I invest in a set of 264/264 cams will they be Too aggressive for street driving while the car remains NA?
A complete fuel setup for e85 will be done , as well as SD and dsmlink.

I'm also looking to get the head ported. My theory is "build it to hold more hp than what ill be driving"


I sent you a pm but I know your a busy feller, so I figured this would be the proper forum to ask.
 
Personally, wait to buy cams untill you have the swap about done.

This will keep you from having to buy cams twice, since the NA will perform better with one set of cams, and the turbo set up with a different grind.
