Okay so after one year of no AC . im putting it back on, so i need help on what part should i replace and how to refill the ac compressor with pag oil and how much:confused:

If the system has been open for a while I would suggest replacing the expansion valve(about $20 usually) and you always want to change the drier when the system is opened as the desiccant material can become saturated pretty easily. You can also unhook the line ends and blow through the lines with compressed air to ensure there is no trash in there. If you capped the lines after removing the compressor i wouldn't worry about it. Rent a vacuum pump and manifold gauge set from the local autoparts store to ensure your pulling proper vacuum on both sides of the system. Also you can buy can of r134 with PAG oil already mixed in it. Here's a link to a 2 part video system of how to do it properly without a $10,000 auto machine. I just bought a '96 Tsi with the A/C removed and I want to put it back in. I know people remove the A/C due to overheating or lack of room, my car is coming next week so I have to take a look at the setup, but I can't go without AC!
