Ok, so I have looked everywhere and maybe Im not seeing it but I cant seem to find any detailed install instruction and or suggestions for this FMIC kit on an 2G auto.
I dont care about what FMIC kit is better and who bought what on ebay and whos scamming who on these budget kits. Seems like that what happens in these threads when someone asks a question.
So on that note.....whats the best way to install the BOV piping on my 2G to make it fit better since I have an auto and right now, that shit is awkward. Its going on the stock T25 which although I ordered the extra piping for that also, its not seeming to reach all that well either. At least coming off the outlet which is facing the old SMIC.
Please, if you have a solution, post.... if not, dont comment. Thanks to anyone that has info !! :)

I have this kit. My DSM is automatic, with a 14b. The upper ic pipe which has the bov doesn't fit as good since our transmission is bigger than the 5 speed. What I did is trim little by little that L-ish shaped pipe. Then used the 45* coupler. My bov(greddy type s) still sits high, the adjustment screw hits the hood brace. What I did was cut a notch on that brace just enough to clear the screw. Now before you go hacking away at new pipes and such I'd say test fit and test and test. Try the different couplers in different areas and see which one fits better. You can also try to bend away the dip stick for the tranny.

No problem. I remember when I couldn't make it work and their page doesn't state it won't be direct bolt on for us. But they where nice enough to upgrade me to powdercoated pipes since at that time they were out of stock of the chrome one. I thought what the heck ill make it work. Just take a bit of elbow grease. It's a good product.

Ok so after much toil and sweat today, I finally got it in. For those of you that need to know... I cut 1-1.5 inches off the L-pipe that comes off the left side ( the SMIC side.)
The upper pipe I wedged in between the tranny case and the lower radiator hose. As tight as I could go in order to eat up some of that piping that was sticking down.
Now as far the couplers go.... you get pretty close on those. I got mine as even as possible with just enough to get it clamped tight.
Finally the lower piping going to the turbo. I have the stock turbo still so I had to use that J Pipe they send from Punishment Racing. That clearance under there blows. The 90 degree coupler is too short to reach the turbo neck and still get you to the pipe coming from the intercooler.
In the end, cut a portion of the old intercooler piping that had a 90 and since its soft and slightly longer I had enough to get all the piping to reach.
Also the BOV screw on top was bumping the hood brace so I cut a small square hole to give it room to travel.
I have pictures but for some reason the damn site wont load em:banghead:

I had a few questions for anyone who has used this kit on an automatic, the long pipe that has the bov attached to it is extremely close to the lower radiator hose, anyone else run into this problem? And the passenger side pipe is going to have to be cut, I assume where I marked in red is the "L" pipe that's supposed to be trimmed?
It sure is a tight fit even with the dipstick bent a little, is there anything else that can be trimmed or angled differently?

Did you end up getting this figured out? Ran into the same issue today. After reading through the threads it sounds like you just have to get creative.

few warnings about this kit. the fitment is never perfect and varies from car to car.

replace the coupler from TB elbow to upper IC piping with a vibrant 45* coupler from vibrant, extreme psi, or STM. Its 30$, much longer, and frees up a TON of more space especially when passing over the transmission. i had a problem a problem with my clutch forks hitting the piping when going into certain gears.

also on that lower IC piping coming off the core... something is wrong. that pipe should not be that long. I think you have it on the wrong side of the core or they sent you the wrong pipe.

I haven't had any problems with the lower radiator hose. I have a thicker fluidyne rad as well. Bending the dip stick helps. But yes you'll have to get creative. Iv been running it for about a year with no problems yet. The only thing that bothers me is that the bov hits the hood.
