So here is a easy solution for the punishment racing or cxracing fmic that tends to side too low to the ground or too high eliminating your fog lights. Everyone knows there is a lot more to a fmic install than this, like bumper removal and trimming, there's good you tube videos on that, this is a good way for the someone that those not like how low the fmic sits and could easy be damaged by the road

Install a longer bolt on both sides, with you con but at any hardware store, this will give a chance to adjust the mounting bar the holds the core so the you can bring the core outlet pipes right underneath you fog lights and give u plenty of clearance from the bottom of the bumper, use 2 nuts and some threat lock to secure it in place

Next remove the bumper stiffening place from the bottom of your factory bumper and cut the excess of like this

This will give some clearance from the bumper to the intercooler, most car one here and not factory height, this will help someone that has a low ride, this method will give some room so that when ur bumper does happen to scrape or hit the road it wont put pressure on your intercooler core or damage it in the process and still keep your factory head lights

In the 2g upgrade path it has a fmic down low saying the stock can handle making up some pretty good horsepower. I was thinking a fmic will help even if your not that far in mods list it should help you go faster with the cold air. Am I missing something.

Depends if your build is at the point where you can take advantage of the larger intercooler. In my opinion, if you don't have fuel mods a fmic is kinda pointless at that point because you most likely aren't flowing enough air to even heat soak the smic. I think dsmlink and proper supporting mods should come first. Once you start seeing knock from heat soak then you should upgrade to a fmic because the upgrade is warranted. I rather be running 16psi properly supported on a smic then be limited to wastegate pressure on a fmic or running 16psi and running lean or hitting fuel cut. Just my opinion though, a lot of people do fmic first.
