I just recieved my Punishment FMIC kit today. and they included what appears to me to be a knock off of the greddy type s BOV. are the worth a whoot or should i just stick to my 1g BOV.

Thanks:hmm:

OMG Compressor Surge....Loosten up that BOV

Just bov flutter, and depending on what kind of pressure he is running, adjusting the bov is pointless. I have the same PR kit and I ran into 2 problems. The first was that the bov flange on the upper intercooler pipe wasn't cut perfect so when I went to mount the bov with the gasket it leaked like a bi***. Had to sand it flat and make a silcone gasket. The second problem was that the bov flutters no matter what you do. I am running 15-16psi and no matter how I adjust it it makes no difference, just flutters! :banghead: Drives me insane. Sounds like crap. Have been debating on running a genuine Greddy or a 1g. Some people say that adjusting even a real Greddy is difficult with low boost, while others have stated that they have no problems with flutter. Yet the price difference is pushing me to go with a 1g.

i have a real greddy type S i have been running on my wrx now for over year and a half no leaks or issues low boost though is almost imposible to set up not to flutter a bit. I love the sound though at low to mid boost its a clean purge then high boost itll have the whistle unlike the NGR that always whistles

I have exact same issue with exact same bov, apparently there are 3 springs inside of it and if you remove one of them it takes the stiffness out (obviously) and functions properly. Now altho I am unsure as to which spring to remove I am going to rip mine apart tomorow and try it out, if I wreck it no big deal as a have a real type rs and I only paid $20 for this punishment type s knock off anyways, I'll let you know what I come up with

ok, so there are 2 springs, you remove the smaller spring that sits inside the bigger spring, follow the link if u have issues
