I have to do a timing belt and throw out bearing in 420a eclipse 5 speed and I plan to do head gasket as well would it b easyer to pull motor and transmission out at once or just do it in the car

Posted yesterday as well.
I have only removed the engine and trans from the top as one piece. Remove hood and use an engine hoist with a load leveler once everything has been disconnected. A load leveler allows you to tilt the engine and trans during removal. These items can be had for a very reasonable price at Harbor Freight. Sounds like you will also want an engine stand as well.

yeah you wont be fighting with stuff trying to get it apart, its always easier on the floor then in the car thats for sure
