pulling my motor

Hey I'm going to pull my motor for the first time by myself this Sunday. I'm on my 3rd motor. I'm just pulling it to clean the motor and change the timing belt and repaint my engine bay. Is there anything I should know? Any problems I might run in to or anything I might need to really know before I pull it or is it pretty straight forward? Also I want to get rid of all the vacuum lines except needed ones. Is there any way I can find out what I don't need on the car so I can make my engine bay look as clean as possible?

It's a jdm 1991 galant vr4 4g63 6 bolt. Any help would be awesome!
