I recently had a PTT Twin Disc installed along with the modified Isuzu Slave but haven't really driven the car that much since, although on my short trips around the block I noticed a few issue's.

The first is that on most downshifts with the clutch peddle fully depressed the tranny will grind when I select the lower gear.

The second is sometimes while in gear and decelerating it get this awful rattling noise coming from the Transmission.

Anyone have any Idea's as to what might be wrong??

Sorry to hear the problems with your PTT. Mine does not do any of the things you mentioned. Sounds like a engagement/disengagement issue. Did you call PTT and ask what they thought? The disks have to face a certain direction. Did you install the clutch yourself? The Issuze slave is deffinently the way to go. I tried my car with the stock slave and the clutch was like a light switch either off or on. I put the Issuze slave on and was able to slip the clutch a little better.

I also recently installed a PTT twin.

I haven't noticed any grinding issues but the transmission doesn't seem as smooth as before though. I can imagine that if my transmission was in a little worse shape this new clutch could have manifested grinding issues. This is the opposite of what I had read before buying the clutch. Not rev matching downshifts with this clutch does seem like more of an issue. I think the main reason is that the revs fall so fast and the clutch is so grabby that it is harsher if I don't get the shift right. I feels really good when I go for a spirited drive but is not so good ####y footing down to the grocery store.

I have noticed the rattling noise. It is present during deceleration and loudest when the car isn't accelerating or decelerating but "coasting" (like when you are going slightly downhill and the engine isn't slowing the car down or speeding it up). I thought this new noise was unrelated to the clutch because I did a lot of other stuff, but after reading this thread maybe it is the clutch?

I am still running the stock slave cylinder but it sounds like the Isuzu slave should be on my to-do list. If I remember correctly the stock 2G slave is closer to the Isuzu size wise than a 1G is. Even so it is a little tricky to modulate especially when it is cold.

My wife hates all the new noises :)

I also get the rattling noise on decel, mine sounds like a frieght train. I am currently using the fwd 1g slave and it is like a on/off switch (had this slave when I had an ACT 2600). I think the noise is normal with an unsprung disk, especially since there are two of them. I also notice when pulling out from a stop I get a belt like squeal when letting the clutch out. This is a 1gAWD with the metal disks.

I finally installed the isuzu slave and that is the way to go. I makes if much better, I highly recommend it.

The belt like squeal is normal from my understanding. I get it too.

are you running a petal stop at all? Im running without a petal stop on a stock 1g awd, but have the isuzu slave sitting in my tool box, grinded and ready to go on.

What makes the isuzu slave better? I thought it was used just for the shorter throw. Mine has the exact problems as the op's.

These noise must be normal I assume since there are a few of us with the same symptoms. The isuzu slave just allows for more engagemnet window so the clutch isn't either on or off, there is an area that allows for slipping from my understanding.

no pedal stop here...I have trained myself to not push the clutch down the whole way. Also even when I do push the clutch in all the way it doesnt over extend, I think it is due to the fwd slave I am using.

I didn't run a stop before I put on the Isuzu slave. I too was mindful not to push the pedal any further than needed. The pedal will be hard, then get easy, then get hard again as it travels. That last hard section is where you are trying to go too far. It is pretty easy to know when you are far enough because the middle floater plate will start its ruckus when the clutch is disengaged.

When I installed the isuzu the stock stopping position was almost right. There was still a little bit of travel at the bottom where it felt like I was trying to over travel the fingers. I went ahead and put a 3/4 inch spacer. It is nice to just push the pedal and not think about it. Also I would feel more comfortable letting someone else drive my car with the stop in place.

The larger slave makes the pedal pressure almost too light (I can push the clutch easily by hand). I might put a larger return spring on there. There is no way I would go back to the old slave because the modulation window is so much better now.

Ahh, I just put a spacer between my stock slave and the bellhousing. I then adjusted the clutch pedal to make sure it released. It does engage right off of the floor, I've sorta gotten used to it with the little bit of driving I've done, but a bigger engagement "window" would definitley be better. It seemed like too much of a pain to make the isuzu slave work just for the shorter throw.
