The PTE DSM bolt on housing was copied from the 7cm/8cm MHI design. The volute is asymmetric just like a 7cm. The tongue is high up towards the inlet just like a 7cm. It works just like a 7cm.
The Bullseye turbine housing (the one we primarily use in the RS series) follows the design of a Garrett T31 turbine housing. The volute is symmetric just like the Garrett, and the tongue is in the right place.

This was at 23psi, 92 GSX with compression of 150, 150, 125, 135. In comparison, my best time with the stock turbo was 13.2 @ 102mph and a little better compression then. This turbo is great on the street. I have seen 11 psi as low as 3,000 rpm. Usually see around 15psi by about 3500, 20psi by 3700, and the most I've run 23psi by 3800-3900.
