Before you tell me to do a search, I did and found loads of things about the pte 50 but not what I was looking for.

I just bought a pte 50trim and its a .60ar and the product number I guess is 300-5031, what is the difference between that and the scm-5031e or are they the same, and how much power should i expect to get out of it.

I can vouch for the SCM5031e , with the Mitsu style housing and BB cartridge I notice spool-up at around 3400, but the top end falls just a little bit due to the SCM turbine housing. The .63 AR housing should be a tad better in top end. Oh if you don't mind me asking.... did you get the Duall ball bearing or the Journal bearing model?

No, the SCM-5031E is not a ball bearing turbo, it is a dry 360 thrust non-ball bearing turbo and requires you to plug your water lines.

SCM-5031RE is a wet (oil and water cooled) T Series dual ball bearing turbo.

According to SBR's website the product number for the Dual BB turbo is PTB-300-5032. Since yours is a 300-5031, I'd say it is a non-ball bearing turbo. Another way to tell is the cost. The 360 thrust bearing one is $800+ and the Dual BB is $1000+

More info at www.dejonpowerhouse.com, click on DSM and the scroll down and click on Turbochargers.

I bought it for $400 on ebay. What is the difference between the .60ar and the .63ar.

Now that I see the 300-5032 is a bb turbo this might be an older bb turbo, because it says ptb above the 300-5031.

300-5031 5031E Precision THF3-27 Precision .63 A/R

I just found this on a google search along with every other turbo they have ever made I believe and ptb 300-5031 is the same as the scm-5031e 450hp.

What is the difference between a .60ar and a .63ar also what is a journal bearing.

A journal bearing is a standard bearing you see in most of the turbochargers out there. There are journal bearing and ball bearing types of turbochargers. As far as the A/R. The higher number is going to give you more top end with a little more lag. The smaller number will give a quicker spool but lack a little top end. Honestly the difference between a 60 A/R and 63 A/R is minimal.

Well thats good.

The 300-5031 alone doesn't signify which turbine housing, just the comp. cover and CHRA.

The .60 A/R will be the comp. cover, which is an E-cover in PTE's line.

The .63 A/R would be the turbine housing.

Hope that helps,
Brian
