Ok from here on out information will be posted here as well as the thread to conform with the new format.

Status of the build is this:
Shell is up for sale on the classified because there is a new shell that will be getting the power plant put in it. The new shell is a 92 Tsi awd and once I have at least the down payment paid for it I will post pictures so you guys can see why I'm choosing to go this route. :sneaky:

Ok Ill be the one to say it, Im not liking this blog thing too much. Seems kind of confusing and you cant follow the 'builds' like on a thread.

Yeah Luda says it will get better soon and I want the site to move in a direction to make it easier to read everything.

I am on here hours anyway so even it it does take hours I will still be able to upload everything LOL.

I sold the old shell to Teflon(John) a local around here who is going to be building it as a track car and I will help him out with that so I'm mot totally turning my back on that shell. The new shell is Casey's(Eagle Claw) old shell. He had a gt42r in it before and made 746whp then parted it out. It has a INCRDEIBLY clean body and the cage is second to none. It already has a chute mount and pltae along with lever interior and a manual steering rack which are all a HUGE plus in my book. They block Photobucket here at work but I will upload the pictures of the shell to here for you non dsmlink forum guys when I get home. You will see right off the bat why I went this route.

more updates to come....

Here's the pictures :)

Wanted to do another in house mock fitting to make sure there aren't any huge F ups so far. SO far looks good. Of course the block isn't in the picture yet but the stock water pipe can be dented and the hoses will be proclassic line so they will be able to flex out the way. The COP was sold as it was wired up for a 90 but I will get the 91-94 unit from the same ebay company soon as I really liked how it was put together and already wired and labled.

Got the new COP setup and my 50mm bov in today. The person who made the COP used some like press in speaker clips but I have the real ones that I will be putting on asap. NO the bov is not a Tial and NO I will not get rid of it and buy a real Tial because I know that is what some people will say. I ran thsi same bov on my old GT14 setup and never leaked so guess what went on this setup.

Just bored So I did another mocking fitting after painting the wiggins clamps to go with the engine bay color scheme better and putting the fittings and lines on the wastegate and bov to see how it would look.

Got my fittings welded in by a local shop that I send a lot of work to. The oil pan came out real clean. The water piper looked a little ify where the old pipe that went back toward the firewall was so I went over it with jb weld and then recoated it with the same ceramic paint as the manifold so it should be cool. I'm going to pick up the tstat housing tomorrow. That piece is actually aluminum and I had to get a shop that does aluminum to do it because the other guys said they couldn't do it. I'll post pictures of that when I pick it up. I went -10 on the oil pan and -16an all around on the coolant hookups

That's some nasty stuff that Mitsu used to cast those. It smokes and spatters while filling the area with a burnt coolant smell.

Sean, wait til you see the valve cover I'm doing right now. It dominates all (except for that sick ass fabricated one that was posted on the Link forums a while back). You're gonna want one. ;)[/QUOTE]

Lol I still have that sick ass one though. I do wanna see what your whipping up though :hellyeah:

He pressure check it for leaks and it was cool. I'm no sure what presure he checked it up to but Jb weld held on my 1rst 1g build when my radiator was leaking like a SIV by itself so I think that with a half descent weld job and some Jbweld to back it up I should be cool

Cool looking forward to seeing it as I'm not a HUGE fan of that on in the pictures. Give me a shaved valve cover with -10 fittings(In which ever location floats your boat) and I'm good.

Anyway I picked up the T-stat housing as promised and you can def tell that my aluminum welders are a littler better than the other guys(but you can't beat free so the others guys still win LOL)

I missed out on the group but for these but found a guy selling a set local so my engine internals are now complete. I will probably take them to the machine shop tomorrow because I have to one get my acl race bears fitted for the pin in the bottom and two these are 21mm wrist pin setup and my HD's are 22mm. No problem though. Cake work for my machinist :)

Enjoy

Hey I wouldn't feed the oil to your turbo off the head with that inline oil filter, i had bad luck with doing that.. I blew out two turbos, took that filter off and fead from the OFH, haven't had a problem sence!!

DId you have your balance shafts in or not? I have seen people feed from there with balance shafts still in and with the that filter have problems because the oil flow was too low. I will be checking the pressure at the end of the feed where the turbo is to make sure I have enough pressure before running the car for real. I'm also going to change the filter right after break in which I don't see guys doing either.

I had no balance shafts!!! You might have beter luck them me, the only thing that has held up for me so far is, the Holset fed from the oil filter housing with a .75" restrictor..

Tomorrow I"m going to work on the rear because I have a idea that I think will make it look a lot better and functional at the same time.
