I installed a FMIC and new header on my 97 GSX and now I have a low idle and it is running VERY rich. Any ideas on what may have happened or has anyone else had this problem?? Stock turbo (T25) was left in place, only changes were the ones mentioned. Please help!!!!

Could try doing a boost leak test. If you have a leak it will make your car run richer due to less air flow and could cause it to have a low idle. Try testing for leaks and see if that fixes the problem. Also, make sure you hooked everything back up, sensors and whatnot. If that don't fix it, let us know.

Boost leak...

Go over all the couplers and make sure they are all set right and tight. Did you pressure check the core before you installed it?

Will go back and check for boost leak. I eliminated all but two of the boots by welding all of the intake piping together. Pressure test was done on the core and the piping before install. Yes, the wideband tells me that it is running rich, that and the fact that I only get about half of the gas mileage I used to. I realize as the mods go further and further that gas mileage may suffer, but as of right now it is a little rediculous!! LOL!!! Boost leak check tomorrow then. All sensors and whatnot were hooked back up as they were before. Also have some questions on manual boost control on these cars, but will fix my problem before moving on. Thanks for the quick replies.

Found the boost leak. It was the BOV of all things. It was like the BOV could not hold the boost pressure and was opening a little during boost and then staying open a little under regular operation. Changed the BOV and now we are all good. Thanks for the help guys!!:hellyeah:

Okay, now on to my boost controller problem. When installed, my car boosts like crazy even with the boost controller turned back all the way. The problem lies shortly after it goes like a scalded dog, it promptly falls on its nose!!! Is this because the computer is cutting fuel after it sees 14 lbs of boost as set by the factory ECU? What do I need to do??
