Problem cranking over: What to check for?

The car has idling problems and hesitation problems for the past few days. Today I went to the car and replaced the hacked MAS today with a Stock ungutted 2g mas. I try to crank it over and it doesnt even want to fire up now. It just sits there cranking over but wont actually start up. Is it possible the MAS might be inoperational or should I look for something else?

So you put a 1G maf into a 2G? How did you plug in the sensor? Did you swap wires? What you really need is a un-hacked 2G mas which isn't too hard to find.

Sorry for my typo. I have some big fingers and hit the 1 instead of 2. It's a 2g mas, unhacked. Picked it up from a friend who is currently deployed.

Was it a known working mas? Plugged in? Did you do anything else to the car?

It was a known working MAS. There is nothing else done to the car other then removed balance shafts.
