Hey all,
Ive just recently purchased a 91 Laser NT as a secondary beater car and Im having some issues that I hope some knowledgable 1g people can help with.
I have no power steering ... the reservoir was dry when I first got the car so I filled it. The first time I turn it over I hear spraying on the bottomside of the car, which was of course power steering fluid. I traced the leak to the flare nut attaching to the rack, I have done the research and know that with the older cars the flare can become faulty. So Im going to try a new line. Ive also checked the local junkyard and they are telling me that on cars more than 10 years back they core and dont salvage nearly anything.
Which brings me to my question ... are the 2gs using the same exact power steering line as the 1gs? Can I simply get one off of one of them and call it a day? Also should I replace the entire assembly as far as lines or just the faulty one?
Please help! I need to get this car running well by this weekend ... so I appreciate all helpful posters! Peace!
