Hi. I want to get this beauty but I have a 420a style fuse box so I am wondering where exactly the filter will be positioned using the FP 4" intake pipe. I will be using MAP so will get the round one w/o recirc pipe along with the 9" K&N fulter, but every FP intake pipe picture is welcomed.

Your HTA68 compressor housing is clocked incorrectly FYI and sorry I never got you those pictures of the porting, I'm writing it on my hand right now so I don't forget tonight when I get home! :coy:

Heres a shot of my FP 4" intake WITHOUT a MAF, I don't think there would be enough room to use the 9" filter if your running one. Another thing to note is that the j-pipe won't clear the intake if its routed on the passenger side of the engine bay. I had a RRE j-pipe and couldn't install the FP intake until I changed IC pipe setups...

Hey, Corey, thanks for the pictures. This filter looks really big. I thought it was not that big :) I have MAP and IAT sensors installed already so bye-bye MAF :)

The turbo was modified to be firing downwards (cut another hole for the dowel pin, welded new bungs for the WG actuator). That will avoid the J-pipe problems you are speaking of. It clears perfectly. I will install IC pipes tomorrow and post some pictures. It's pretty and tidy that way :)

Don;t worry about the images. I have already ported it, but if you want it will be good to compare mine porting to the original one.

If I remember correctly, it was a 12" filter. It has been a while since I ran the GT40R setup, as I am now running a 5" intake pipe with an even larger filter....

Look at the pics on my profile page. I have a recirculated one with a K&N FPIK. I like it!

Man, I love the FP intake pipes. I can't wait to get one.

Why do you have a 420a fuse box?

Because the european models did not have a 4G63 option. They only had 420A options. Correct me if I am wrong, but that is all I saw when I lived in Spain.

I correct you right away :)

N/A EURO spec dsm's didn't have 420a at all, but a 4g63 engine with similar characteristics. 141hp, 177Nm. Whey had some minor differences than us turbo 2g's and the fuse box is one of them. Where the turbo 2g dsm's have the IC hoses and IC we have the fuse box and the windshield liquid container. Yeah we have 2 - one for the windshield and one for the hatch :) Also in EU there are more requirements and more equipment which I guess doesn't fit in the turbo fuse box.

Got the kit, guys. Love it! And the 9: filter is just right. Fits perfectly and even leaves room for the original windshield water tank which will be used for an intercooler sprayer now :)

Corey, we got 2 tanks - each for a window (LOL). The rear one behind the trunk lock panel (I don't know how do you guys call it over there), and the front one is in the place of the stock intercooler. :)

The funny thing was I had to drive more than an year with no water for the wind shield before I got a turbo water tank from the AWD donor car :) I was boosting the income of those traffic light beggers those days :)

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but my search just came up with conflicting answers.

Im switching to speed density as soon as the sensors come in and Im wondering if I ordered the right filter.

I ordered one of the 4 by 9's I see here in this thread but a Dry Flow from AEM. Is the regular 4" round filter going to stretch over the oval shape of the FP intake?

Is there a cheaper alternative to Forced Performance's 4'' to 2.25'' intake to turbo coupler? I can't justify spending $36-40 after shipping for a single silicone coupler.

I've searched and searched but can't find another besides the one they make. I've seen them sold second-hand for $25 but I can't seem to find one now.

Corey why did you mention that the 68hta was clocked incorectly..Can't you clock it whatever way you want to suit your needs?

Never mind I remembered that the 68hta is a tdo5..That means you need to clock it correctly for your j pipe..

I had to edit this, but I'm leaving the stupid question, so everyone knows what you mean and why is has to be that way..

There's an alternative, cheaper is up for debate though. ExtremePSI: 4" to 2.25"

This is the closest I could find that you MIGHT be able to fab up to work however, its .25" too big and the reducer is centered rather than offset like the FP version.
Silicon Intakes 4" to 2.5" black

Well a member sent me a pm and sold me one like this for pretty cheap: link

It's not offset, but I pulled my stock pipe off and did some measuring and I'm pretty sure it'll work just fine.

If it doesn't work I might just sell the FP and get a pipe that reduces gradually. Would probably flow better anyway. But I do love the look of the FP pipe and it matches my exhaust mani :)

I would post a picture but it does not fit! Im using stock manifold with an hx35 and it hits the shifter cable ends. Iv cut the counter weight off while back but i have no room anyone else have this problem?

Post a photo of the clearance issues you're having, I've heard of j-pipe clearance problems before but that wouldn't be the case with a Holset.

Mine mated up to an evo 3 16g..Kind of hard to see, but it fit perfect.Fabed up a small metal bracket to hold the intake though because it was a lot of weight on the small 16g intake

Extreme PSI makes one, but I'm not sure if it's any cheaper than FP's
