Hi all,

Did a search about it but couldent find an answer, so i hope someone can help me out.
Im about to install a FMIC(side to side style) and a e3b16g turbo soon, but first i need to order acouple of other things, like a j-pipe and a intake pipe.
Im gonna buy everything from ExtremePSI so.. here comes the question!

Is there gonna be a clearence problem using extremepsi's j-pipe and FP's intake pipe?
I called them up to ask but they couldent answer my question beqause they dident know.
They have two kinds of j-pipes, 1G type that routes slightly to the passanger side and 2G that should route more straight down.

Any help would be apreciated, it would kinda sux if it dident work out, with me living in Sweden... the store isent exactly around the corner :D

Hey, I'm not sure about the extreme psi's J-pipe, but I do know that FP's intake clears the WG actuator, radiator hose, and their J-pipe. Why don't you just go with FP's J-pipe, then you won't have to worry?
Here's a pic of both FP's Intake and J-Pipe.:thumb:

Thats not a J pipe for use with a side/side IC, the only brands i know of for use with a side/side fmic is dejon and SBR, there wont be any clearance issues because it bends immediately toward the radiator instead of toward the headlight area. You might wanna verify Extremepsi's J pipe but from what ive researched, Dejon and SBR are the only ones that will route toward the driver side.

Dejon J Pipe is perfect for Side to Side FMIC Setup:thumb:

SBR J Pipe is also great for side to side fmic setup

Good luck with your install.:rocks:

What brand of fmic are you going to run? because most jpipes will be a major pain to install with a side to side fmic. Most of them exit down on the passenger side of the front torque mount and too far back. So you'll have to mod the j-pipe to get it to work & more then likely switch to a slim fan. I had the RRE jpipe & it was going to be too much work to get it to fit my fmic so I too went with the dejon tool jpipe. It exits in the same location as a 20g or down firing 50 trim etc. Which is a perfect location between the 2 rad fans. Was even able to keep both stock fans with this pipe :thumb:

Kinetic is one of the best canadian shop, many products are not listed on their website, but mark answer your question realy fast (i exchange 8 messages in one day with him...). But the j-pipe is the exact same thing as SBR.

Extreme psi sells a j-pipe for a side to side intercooler as well. you shouldn't have any type of clearance issues with it. thats what i am going to be getting.

Do you have a link or a pic of their pipe? Clearance of the pipe itself won't be an issue, the issue with most is trying to get them to connect to the ic pipes.

Thanks for all the replys!

The reason im asking about ExtremePSI's j-pipe is because it's easyer for me to order from one place.
Not that there a two types of j-pipes.. "Stainless Steel J PipeUse with any 14B/16G turbochargersPlease note that 1G J-Pipes are routed towards the radiator for the use of FMIC Piping"
Here's what the ExtremePSI's j-pipe look like

And here's what the intercooler that i have bought looks like, it's the universal type BIG.

There shouldent be a problem with the piping... my consern is if the extremepsi j-pipe will work together with FP intake pipe, and that the j-pipe will route down without clearance problems so i dont have to change to slim fans etc.

Thanx again everyone.

Best reg.

It looks like the extreme jpipe might be the same style as the dejon tool one, which is what you want. I would email extreme and find out where the jpipe exits. You DON'T want one like the first posted pic with the FP intake as with that exit location it will take too much modfying to get the ic pipes to fit. You want a jpipe that exits in the same location as a 20g, this will make your life alot easier. Instead of dropping down beside the intake it should drop down towards the drivers side of the turbo outlet, by the center section of the turbo. Not sure if my description makes sense so I did a quick sketch of where you want it to exit.

If their "1 g" jpipe is the one in the pic you attached then yes it looks right, but its hard to know for sure. I would email them first to make sure it exits in the 20g location, if it does your good to go :thumb: . You don't want one that exits the same as the stock 1g as that doesn't point down. It sorta pints forward to the passenger side.
