I was just finishing my 16g install and I go to install my Injen intake pipe and it didn't fit because my SBR J-pipe was in the way. I KNOW this has been discussed before. But the person that had this problem was just barely touching it from the sounds of this. The J-pipe is really blocking the intake.
Should I wait until monday to call Slow Boy Racing and see what they can do? Maybe send it back to have to bent outward more by them?
I need some solutions.
Thanks!

Are you using this coupler from Forced Performance? "As you can see from the pictures, the 4" FPAIP now clears the radiator hose, WG actuator and Jpipe."

Could you take pictures to show how badly it's in the way?

i THINK i'm not positive but i think they insert a paper in the J pipe box that says some modification may be required to fit properley. but that coupling is a a good fix too

You should get the RRE J-pipe, no problems there

I'll 2nd that and my injen fits with plenty of room! Can you take a picture how bad is this in the way? Good luck man!

I wish I had a camera to snap a picture. But I'll call Slow Boy tomorrow.

Do you think I can just spend $70 and buy a RRE j-pie and use it with the rest of my SBR 16g install kit?

Here a shot of my RRE pipe when it was on the car, it clears the intake easily... and its blue, you know you want it. ;)

I actually had a problem with the RRE j-pipe and an Injen knockoff intake pipe. In my case, I was able to trim the coupler for the j-pipe to l-pipe and it fit. Anyway, I eventually took the intake pipe off and sold it.

Well the injen intake is a larger diameter then that one pic that has a solid pipe joined to the factory rubber one but yes I too had the RRE jpipe and an injen intake and they would fit. They would rub each other slightly but I didn't have to force anything and had no problem with the coupler because it sat lower then the intake. If you get the RRE pipe you will also need their L shaped lower pipe if you are running to the stock ic location as I would imagine the SBR L pipe won't match up since apparently their jpipe exits in a different location.

Edit: Thats a dope GST you've got :thumb:

I suggest calling SBR first and seeing what they will/can do for you. Don't go out and buy and RRE J-pipe when SBR may fix it for you.

See, I ordered my FMIC kit from them and my t-body elbow was at a degree to extreme for my car. I simply called up SBR, talked to Mike, the owner. He was more than happy to take back my elbow and fix it for me. It took them less then 1 week to get it and fix it and ship it back to me to my door. They even did it 5 months after I bought it, no probs. The fix it great and the welds are awesome. They do have some very skilled welders/machinists working there.

I hope SBR can do something for me. They are awesome to deal with, and I'd be bummed if they couldn't help me out.
Their port work is AWESOME!
Tomorrow morning I'll call them. Man, people in my parent's house are PO that my car has been sitting in the garage for over 3 weeks.

you could always go with something custom like this.....

Oh great just my luck! I got the runt of the litter.Ooh well, my J-pipe fits just fine now that I tweaked it.
Make sure you leak test that sucker, I'm sure the gasket isn't lining up perfectly now that you tweaked it.

couple more angles with the forced performance intake.......
