Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone with the SBR intake manifold had any problems with the welds. I recently aquired one and the welds looks horrible - dirty, small, and very uneven. I had to do some re welding and it should be fine now.

I'm also wondering how runner entry affects flow. How much is gained with a nice radius? It's pretty sharp on the SBR manifold.

Enjoy the pics

I have not see one leave the shop this way - if you want a different one send this one back for exchange - it will still not come part like some other intake manifold I know -

Just let me know what you want to do, I have plenty more here I can pick one myself for you.

Thanks for the offer Mike, but I need to finish my car asap. It should be ok now since I rewelded it. What kind of warranties are there with the manifold as far as cracking? I will actually weld a support bracket onto the underside of the manifold to bolt to the block, similar to the ams manifold for the evo's. Hopefully, it wont crack. I can take pics if you guys would like to see the finished product.

Good to see a vendor stand by what they sell. Especially with all the bashing I always see going around. BTW thanks for getting my parts to Wess Hess for my build :thumb:.

I have not had one crack, I can warranty my welds - but I cannot take responsibility for something I did not do, I hope you understand - especially since I offered to take it back the day I heard of you not being happy.

Two customers on this board with 9 second cars both had blown up sheet metal intake manifolds from another vendor, they have run ours now with no issues that I know of - with no extra bracing of any kind.

Sure - send me pictures - [email protected]

I just wish I could get him the damn head gasket he desires so bad.... LOL.... it's been a nightmare... and not one I can prevent!

No worries, I like working with Wess - he is one helluva smart guy and really knows what he is doing.

Thank you for your business,
