Speaking of spoilers. How many of you 2Gb DSM'ers have seen this spoiler?

Ok, so I was looking at the gallery section and I notice this photograph. The white Talon has an high rise spoiler but with LED.

Just when I thought I had seen every variation of a DSM, is this a '98 2gb Talon spoiler by any chance? I can honestly say I've never seen that before or even knew it existed.

I did some research on that 2gb Talon spoiler with the LED brake light and its not OEM, Wings West made this spoiler with a 17" LED brake light in it. Very nice.

and yes i noticed my windows, . i have mixed feelings on them, just like the spoiler...some angles it looks sooo badass, and some...ehh.

Thanks Reggie, I appreciate the compliment but if it still looked like it did 2yrs ago then I'd look like every other '97 Eclipse on the road and it wouldn't be my own. I wish I could have that stance back but it was just too low and wasn't practical for DD'ing.


I didn't put black on the spoiler, its CF painted red on top.

ive read that it was a prototype wing and was released on some super rare 96 models...then wings west make a copy. But i dont know how true that is...

Yea, and I couldn't tell you, as I pulled it off of a parts car. ! Both talons are in that pic... so that spoiler will be going on the blue one.

I *may* have some sides; depending on what happens with the white car.

I think I have seen someone else ask him this before. There is a small gap between the headlights, and he had a body shop delete his emblem.

Correct me if i'm wrong Gofer.

I got the bumper used from a guy in FL because they are so hard to find and it was Maroon. When I had it painted to match my car I had the body shop fill in the Talon emblem. There is still a gap which I had planned on fixing but believe it or not I'm logging 6* cooler engine temps at highway/traffic just from changing the bumper. I'm assuming a portion of that is because of the gaps on the inside of the headlights, heres a picture from straight on...

Isn't the housing of the headlight the same as any 2G car? And just the clear lense has the sharper center part? If I remember correctly, and I can kind of see it in the pic. So wouldn't the housing just be blocking the air the same as any other headlight would?

Look at the above picture, if you want closer pictures of the gap the cars only a walk downstairs and out into the garage away. The way the headlights are shaped it almost directs the air into the radiator too, I wasn't planning it that way but it worked out.

Ah, now that you mention it, I can see that it would almost push air right into the radiator. Function>form huh?

You were right.

You now probably started a new trend put it the stage mods either in free mods or stage one " take 2gb eclipse headlights and use them with 2gb talon bumper. You will have cooler temps"

I finally got a 2Gb Bumper for my 97 Talon!! It needs a bit of work and to be painted black. But after about 9 months of searching, having them sold out form under me, broken promises, people backing out of deals, people "deciding they don't want to sell it", and unanswered PM's, I finally have one!

Thats the same color mine was when I got it, I had mine shipped from Florida to California on a Greyhound bus, they are hard to get! haha. Congrats!

Well, mine may not be clean but its taken a good bit of work to get it where its at and every time I seem to get it in the right direction and lay some paint something else happens that delays me but anywho, this is my 1998 Eclipse RS.....

My DSM is actually a 2gb Eclipse I converted to the 2g body pieces that I like. I kept the 2gb Eclipse spoiler and rear bumper but put on 2ga Talon sides and the RARE 2gb Talon front bumper which I love. I also vinyled the top of the car matte black, paint was too permanent and A LOT of prep work. Below are some pictures. My car kind of has a identity crises but nobody really knows the difference unless they're DSM heads like us.
