So I had to replace the pintle cap on one of my injectors. After putting everything back together and starting the car, it runs rough for a a second and dies. It won't stay on. I went back through the whole process and still the same problem.

The new cap is different than the others. Would that cause a problem? I have replaced seals on the injectors twice before this so it's not like it was my first time taking them out and putting them back in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you possibly pop any kind of fuse doing this? Did you disconnect the battery? Is the car modded? Why did you replace just 1 injector cap?......kinda chasing a needle in a haystack with your brief description pal

I doubt I popped a fuse. The battery was disconnected. The car is basically stock. The The injector cap I had to replace was cracked to pieces.

I am thinking the injectors just weren't seating correctly. I am going to check it tomorrow.

Ive had that problem where the injectors were not seating right in a non dsm it can cause a rough idle but one injector had been just about popped out when this occured. it helps to have a second set of hands to hold down the rail with even pressure while you torque down the bolts. Tighten the bolts in steps to ensure even seating across the rail. Also use a screwdriver or like device and listen while some one starts the car to see if you can hear that injector clicking there pretty loud but if its not clicking, its not spraying and your not getting fuel to that cylinder. Check the pintle on the suspect injector also if it was damaged while replacing the protective plastic cap the fuel injector will not atomize the gas and improper or no combustion occurs in that chamber.

I just came in from trying again. I got new caps for each injector to make sure they were the same. Everything looks even. It does basically the same thing. It will stay running a little longer, but still like crap. If I rev it to 3k+ it gets smooth.

Turns out the lower seals were the wrong size on the new caps. Got the right size on there and we're back in business. Sorry for my mistake on checking the leaking injectors. Thank you to everyone for your help.
