2G Possible to put 1G engine in a 2G?

Need help asap...... I'm looking to pick up a 2g project and don't know a hole lot about dsm.. I have done some Honda work and have owned a few 1g's. So I may be pucking up a 95 talon tsi awd 5speed. It needs a top end and may be a bottom end wont know in tel i get it. What is missing as of right now. turbo and a head, manifold. So I'm thinking of putting in a stock used 4g63t motor... But will a 1g motor go in it and would it be a good idea to put a non turbo motor in it with the turbo cams? I will be getting the cams but no head. thanks for the help. o do you know of the 95 is a 6 bolt?

Yes, a 1G turbo motor can work in a 2G car but it is not a simple bolt-in procedure. Start reading: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/383951-6-bolt-engine-2g-car.html#post152352897. You will find additional information by searching "6-bolt swap", using the titles only option.

If you want to use a non-turbo 4G63 motor, it is highly recommended to swap in turbo pistons. Non-turbo pistons generally do not hold up against the higher cylinder pressures inherent in a boosted engine. Definitely use the turbo cams.

And 6-bolt motors were in cars until April-May-ish of 1992; every 4G63 thereafter came, originally, with a 7-bolt engine.

What makes you think running turbo cams in a non turbo car is a good idea? If your referring to a 420a.
