Resolved Can I put a 2G fuel pump assembly in a 1G?

Hello all,

I am working on restoring a 1990 Eagle Talon nonturbo fwd that has sat for 10+ years. The fuel tank is full of rust and so is the fuel pump assembly, however I can't seem to find a replacement, only just the fuel pump. I did find on Rockauto an assembly that fits a 95 talon, and I was hoping I could use that instead? I'm not sure about the fitment though. I did notice that the 2g has the fuel return line end at the assembly and the 1g has it go directly into the tank, but I figure I could just cap the entry point on the new assembly and keep using the old on-tank one. Attached is a picture of how bad the old one is--past saving I think.

You could post a Want to Buy ad in the classifieds for a FWD 1G hanger. I’m sure someone here has a spare they could sell you.
