Possible software options for a laptop not a palm!

well i was doing some looking around and came across a guy claiming to have some software to log right to your laptop. What is this software called and where can i get it? i have logging cables already and the laptop all i need is some software to do it since my Palm took a crap and i dont wanna buy one right now. So does anyone know if there is any free software to log to my laptop or where i can get some software othere than DSMlink?

You have two choices on a laptop that I know of.
Get a copy of the TMO software from somebody or get the Palm emulator and run MMCd in it.

Cables designed for a Palm device will need a null modem and gender changer to work with a PC serial port due to DTE/DCE issues.
